Or perhaps you are to gaurded. The world should not trust one's instinct's alone.

Im not trusting ones instinct alone, obviously. Im just saying that Harry feels something bad about snape (and he's not the only one) so that I, as the reader, get the same feeling. I don't live my life on the basis of what Harry's instincts are.
And im just not one to hand out second chances for murder.

Now that Snape has killed dumbldore he has lost his position in hogwarts and in turn the main source of his power and gone on the run, becoming an underdog. People natualy resent those who have power, particularly when they abuse it(which Snape did). Also we have a tendancy to forgive and be compassion toward the underdog, which Snape has become.

Also Snape has been inherently selfish throught the course of the books, he switches sides based on who is curently in power for the benefit of himself and caring little about what happens to others. When he killed Dumbledore he permatly afixed himself to the evil side thereby showing that his neuteral but incredibly selfish personality is inherently evil.

Snape's actions show that he truely believes that "There is no good or evil, only power"

But do we really know his reasons?

OK. So he believes there is only power. Doesn't stop him considering that there might be more power available to him if he sticks with the good side.

Therefore someone in that mind will play both sides, until one gets taken out.

The question is whether or not he has made his choice and aligned himself with Voldemort by killing Dumbledore - or aligned himself with Harry by killing Dumbledore, thourgh some unknown reason.

I think he just did what he had to do to survive - he made the Unbreakable Vow, remember.

I still don't think he's aligned with any side yet, even in his mind.

I think Deathly Hallows is when he will make his choice. In all this time, he hasn't made up his mind yet. That's my belief.

He has conflict inside of him...

Maybe his does see only power. But I don't believe it.

I think he can see the distinctions perfectly.

Right, He saved his own hide from dying by killing DD. so now the powerful side is with LV, so that's the way he went.

Or, the choice was made for him. He's been playing both sides this whole time, but when confronted he was forced into doing the unbreakable vow or letting the secret of his playing sides be known. So he just ended up on Voldy's side.

i don't think that's it. i think that snape really is evil and DD was begging for snape not to join the death eaters.

Yes, I'm thinking that Snape wouldn't tell about the vow. That's why when snape killed him he understood and was asking Snape to tell him it wasn't true. :-(

When did they argue in the forest? :???: And he could've been only on one side this whole time and I belive it to be The Order and The D.A.'s side.
The question that is left truly comes down to:Can you trust him?
I say yes.

Snape is definitely not a trustworthy person. I would say he's the least trustworthy in the whole series. Because he is changing sides you never know where is true loyalties lie, and yet he pretends to work for both sides. Thats what this whole argument is about in the first place!
