each player in a given league participates in a preseason draft where the can pick any players from NFL teams. They take those players on their teams throughout the season and use their stats to score points, basically setting up a mock game of football. During the course of the year the people in the fantasy league can trade, drop, and pick up players just as in the NFL. However, the team makeup is completely customizable, usually consisting of a QB, 2 RB, 3WR, a TE, a Defense (for which the fatasy player simply choses an NFL team such as the Packers and uses the entire defense for scoring purposes) and a kicker and others that "sit the bench" on your fatasy team.
Fantasy players will recieve a certain amount of points for different areas such as TD passes, receptions, rushes, rushing, passing and recieving yeards, and other categories.
All the scoring depends on what happens in the real NFL. It's really a fun time if your an NFL fan.
