This is a very interesting point. Maybe you should start a new topic for this:
Given that Harry survives the final showdown: In what circumstances will he live five years after? Auror in a world without LV? Working for the ministry? And besides the career aspect, which has already been discussed, will he have a family? Visiting friends? Health problems? A normal life?

Actually I think it will be very boring for Harry to live a normal life after his spectacular time at school. This is a problem many people have, who work on exciting projects. Stepping back and becoming just another person among rank and file of the wizarding community would be rather hard for him.

harry's chances for a normal life were diminished the moment the prediction about him and LV was made. he will never have a normal life, never have a normal g/f. which is why i think all that try to be his gf will crack under the pressure, leaving him alone in the end.

This is actually another point for Luna. She is so unconcerned about other people and their opinions. Maybe she can withstand. On the other hand: A girlfriend opens one more vulnerability. Both shool mates and LV can use this against Harry. Lots of opportunities for conflict in books 6+7!

Every now and then, you say something that makes me wonder if you've even ever read the books all the way through.

This is definately one of those times.

I had to comment this...Luna had a big part in book 5,and actually I like her.And after all she's the one who explains the veil(see page 760/761)

And the other thing I want to comment, for some time I was a suporter of Luna & Harry a couple theory, but now,the more I think about it the lees I'm sure.Actually I think that he will be with Cho or Ginny or maybe even both :???: ,but I think that in the end he'll probably die...Or like DM says he'll be alone.I just haven't found a perfect person for Harry.
