Poor Harry

Postby RavenEye » Tuesday 11 February 2003 11:19:09pm

I was surprised when Harry didn't get any Oscar nominations today, I was suspecting it would get 'Best Costumes' or those small categores, but nope, nothing. Not fair I tell ya!

Elvenmist, the Oscar nominees were announced today.

Raveneye, the Oscars can be unfair. To tell you the truth, I wasn't expecting either of the Harry movies to win anything, though I, too, wish they would.

TT got 6 nominations in fact, including best picture. See the nominations at www.oscar.com

I never aniticipated Harry to win anything, but after getting 3 nominations last year, I was thinking it would get something. But you're right Hermione, they can be unfair.

oh yeah! it's really awesome!! and much better than fellowship!!

thanks for the link, cory... *goes to look an nominations*

yeah, i think CoS was much better than SS- so why did SS get nominations, but not CoS? maybe because it was the first HP movie ever...

I think it's usually referred to as TTT, though (The Two Towers), but what the heck- it doesn't really make that much of a difference.

You know, I got rudely corrected by a classmate today when I accidently called the movie "The Twin Towers". Why are people so sensitive nowadays?

lol. i correct people jsut because that's my LotR-obsessed nature. (i'm the person who, when purchasing her movie ticket, says "one for the lord of the rings: the two towers" lol.) i would still correct people even if 9/11 had never occurred... that's just me! but, yeah, people are sensitive...

heh heh. I actually heard that some people wanted 'The Two Towers' changed because it related too much to the tragedy of 9/11.

I think there was a petition going around for a while to have the name changed, but it fell flat on its face. Things like that make me mad, like this:

I think it's really stupid- Tolkien wrote The Two Towers at least fifty years before 9/11. It has nothing to do with the tragedy, and besides, it's a work of literature read world-wide, not just by Americans.

Bleh. I'm going to stop ranting now before someone gets madder than I already am. That would be scary.

yes. on a lotr test i took one of the questions i took said:
a. have you ever seen this petition before? (and then a link to it) ___
b. do you think the people who wrote this petition should be shot? ___
c. perhaps by legolas? ___

it was really funny.

people like that bother me!!! bothersome!!! gaaahh! LotR is too great to even think about changin a name. freaking coincidence, and no one cares. people will still see the movie and read the books no matter if the name is "The Two Towers". it's not that major of a big deal, so why shoudl anyone care? *breathe in breathe out*

yeah. moving on...
