Okay...I'm not to sure, but here is what I think...

I don't think those are dementors...they could be, but look at the hands and then look at the other hands. Those look more to me like a cross between the Nazgul (from LOTR) and something else...

With the Snape picture, I've about decided it's just a promo picture (not actually a screenshot). I think it's meant to stand for the scene when Snape is "protecting" Harry, Ron and Hermione from Sirius, and also Lupin.


I agree with this because it really can't be when it actually happens, because Ron was injured AND they were INSIDE the Shreiking Shack...so I agree with Athena that it's probably just a promotion picture...

yeah, like I said, I haven't been able to see a trailer, so I don't know for sure if those are dementors... the site I got it from did have a question about if they really were or not...

hmm.. i'm pretty sure that's a dementor's hand, when the dementor's board the train. Because that's a picture from the trailer,and then they show the rest of the dementor (or most of it) and its got a shroud over it's face and stuff...

i don't really like the way they've portrayed the dementors, it doesn't agree with my mental image of them at all.

I agree...I can't really describe why i don't like them, but i just don't. I imagined them more like the Nazgul from LOTR...However, im liking pretty much everything else about the movie. Wait...i dont like the part where Hermione "punches" Malfoy in the 2nd trailer...It looks way to fake.

Yeah, I think the sound effect of punching someone's nose should not be like that. It sounds too comical.

How do you, ladies and gentlemen, pictured the dementor in your head?
The hand in the PoA trailer looks convincing to me but what should be under the hood? By right, they shouldn't have any eyes since they can see but I pictured them as a skeletal head with two little yellow eyes (kinda like the Grim Reaper)

I pictured them to be skeletal like with almost like a gray "skin" stretched over where their eyes WOULD be and BIGGER, I thought they would be so much bigger, like a presence you would HAVE to notice. I thought they would be Hagrid's size, but I guess because of their power, they don't have to be...

Well, they are supposed to be very tall. I think the books describe them as 12 ft tall. You cant really tell from the brief glimpses of dementors from the trailers how big they really are.

Yeah that is true, I guess it was their girth I was expecting to be bigger, like larger shoulder's and just larger than life overall. ?!?

Oooh, this is a very nice site Athena! I haven't seen hardley any of those pictures before! That pic with Harry and Hermione is... interesting, and the boggart-Snape is hilarious. :) As for the Dementors, I hope that's not what they look like. They're too much like the Ringwraiths, except scarier-looking.

I'm about to go update it in the next 24 hours (hopefully, if my sons, my mother, my sisters, my grandparents, and the Easter Bunny let me... I'm kinda spread really really thin right now)...

But sometime very soon, I'm going to update it with some AWESOME pictures I found and hadn't ever seen before... or, at least, I haven't seen a lot of them before...

So check it again, probably by Monday I'll have it done.

Oh yeah, and I pictured the dementors kinda like the tall black-hooded things in LOTR, but with greyish scabby-type "skin" and a great gaping hole for a mouth... maybe eye sockets, but not real eyes... Kinda the basic shape for a human face, only without the real fine features...
