Right, so as I said in this thread previously, I really don't buy this theory myself, but for people who to it might be interesting to read PS Ch. THe MIrror of Erised where after CHristmas Day Ron and Harry play wizard chess. Harry says "He suspected he wouldn't hace lost so badly if Percy hadn't tried to help so much." Maybe it could have some relevence to the Chess Theory.

wow, this is a great theory. I would have never thought of this. Seems pretty logical, but I am not buying it. Kind of too easy, I mean its not a widely circulater theory, but really you can make anything out of nothing, like the bottles of poison.

Good theory. I bet this whole chess thing has a lot to do with the entire plot line. And.......if LV is the white king, maybe its something like DD said in CoS "I will only truly be gone when all that are loyal to me are gone" (something like that) Maybe LV will only be gone when all his DEs are killed or reformed or whatever. Then it will be easy for Harry to get rid of him.

Ron had to be knight...

Postby hbic3 » Thursday 25 March 2004 1:06:11am

If the King can stay until the end and not be taken out, what sense would it make for Ron to be King?

It's Harry's quest, not Ron's. Harry being "The Boy who lived" is obviously the only one who can take on Voldemort with better than half a chance of surviving. If Ron were to be King, then Harry would have taken out, and Hurt, and unable to go on.

I think this was just to progress the story. Not to hint at anything later on.

this has to be the most spinechilling Harry Potter theory i have ever read.
The way it is put, i firmly believed it at first glance. on re-reading it though, i found one loophole

The black king plays no part in the chess game (obviously). does that mean DD does nothing vital?

are we positive Dumbledore is the black king? I mean, it would make sense, but I don't know...

Then again, Dumbledore, great as he is, really has no major part in the whole killing-voldy story... aside from being the backbone, kinda, of the good organization, it's Harry, and the other "regular" people, not Dumbledore, who must do the actual fighting.

:welcome: welcome to broomsticks and owls!

I read that, and I have to think she's just teasing there... because I read in an interview a while back that she said the trio won't die... but i don't know where that interview is
