Same here but I couldnt get into hogsmede either, and when I tried using the link on my favourites I couldnt get on, it wasnt until I went on google and entered the forum using the link from the search engine that I could get on at all. Im not sure what was wrong with the link on my favourites because I overote it with the link I got off google and it worked, even though it said it was the same. :o

Really sorry for the problem. I don't yet know what caused it (I hadn't made any changes or anything) but somehow part of the databased had become corrupted. I'm pretty sure I've fixed it now but if any more error messages or strange things occur please say. :)

Sincere apologies for the site being inoperable for the last couple of days. Similar problems have been occurring in the last couple of weeks which had caused tables in the database to become mildly corrupted again (I think this may simply be due to the server just overworking itself a bit). Up until now I've gone into the database each time to manually repair the tables but I've added some extra coding to the forum now, so if it happens again you shouldn't need to wait for me to do the manual adjustment. If you do the type of error again, just wait about 5 seconds and then refresh your browser, and the forum should automatically be back and working again. :)

Sorry again everyone - had to close things down for another couple of hours or thereabouts since my last message - seems the autofix utility got things back up and running but everyone's permissions were wrecked, leaving House Members unable to access their Common Room, and Moderators unable to Moderate. I've therefore removed the autofix coding and will be looking into other alternatives in case this happens again.

I've had to revert everyone's permissions back to how they were on 26 January 2004. If anyone has problems in accessing their Common Room, Moderating, posting, or doing anything they should be able to do, please contact me or post here and I'll ensure things are sorted out one way or another. Real apologies again for the trouble.

Sincere thanks to everyone who contacted me about the problem originally, and to Violet for pointing out how bad things were as soon as the original autofix was done.

I'm really sorry about this. Errors keep cropping up all the time at the moment. I'll try to fix them as a matter of urgency. I'm slowly moving further toward getting the alternative server sorted but it's a long-winded process I'm afraid.

Should we keep posting about these errors in here or keep pm-ing you about them?
