At my institution, periods go by the hour. 8,9,10,11,1,2,3,4,5 Most classes are 1 hour. some are 2,3 etc. a friend of mine's got a 5 hour session. and there are often free hours or two.

Hey guys, It looks like I have had both Block schedules and electronic money accounts.
For the schedule: We dont have block schedules anymore, but we used to. No one liked it since it was borring and repetitive, and it gave us A LOT of homework!!! It was insane on how much of homework we had. Now we have a schedule like a collage or university (like in the US). We have 20 minute mods, and different classes have a different number of mods (like english, history and science have 4 mods, foreign language and PE has 3 mods, and math has 2 mods). We have each class every other day (meaning we have Day A and day B). If we dont have class for a mod, its like a 20 minute break. The biggest break i have is a 120 minute break!! Its a great time to get work done. Math is every day for 2 mods since they think its important to have math every day to practice. This is a better schedule than Block schedules, however it dose create problems when there is a lot of ppl, since they ahve to find free time for people to have classes in. You can also have more classes than you normally have since we have a lot of free time. |The block schedule for us was 8 classes (block 1, bl0ock 2, block 3 up to 8 ), and we had 6 classes a day. 4-5 were normal blocks (which was 50 minutes) and there were 1-2 double blocks (100 minutes) a day. We also had Days A-F, where on day A you have Double 1, 4, 7, 3, Lunch, 8 and Assembly, and day B u have Double 2, double 7, 6, 5, 2, and it just goes on and on till F. It is really hard, and borring and it requires a lot of homework. for our new schedules, it gives the students resposibility to finish homework and gives us a lot of free time, which is always great.

NOw for the electronic Accouts: we have this for the school store and lunch. This is good, since what you do is put the money on the card (its like a credit card), and then when you use it, you have your own password so only you knows it. There is also a scanning computer that tells you how much money you have on it. Many people dont like it since they are irresponsible and they loose their cards! Its good since it has password protection, but I think its a good system. You just scan the food and then you type in your password, and then you are done. Well I hope this helps!

Hi! I don't have a money card or an electronic account. But the time system is rather like 90 min...

We have a time table that says us which classes we take at Monday, Tuesday, ... untill Friday. We have either 90 or 45 min of a subject. For instance, Monday I have 45 min Biology, 90 min Psychology and 90 min Chemistry (not all my days are this short, though...).

We need to have a determined time of a subject through the week. For example, in my timetable, I have 90+90+45 min Math, bacause that's what the Ministry for Educatuion predicts for us, students of the 12th year.

I don't know if this helps you, but that's my two cents!!
