Aberforth

Even though we've read very little about him I find him very interesting. What mysteries could there be about him ? I also wonder what charms he did on the goat. I'm not sure if I really want to know though. I read somewhere on the internet, (I think it was called Harry Potter Lexicon, I'm not sure) that it's possible Aberforth is the bar guy of the Hogs Head. He had a resembulance to Dumbledore and seemed vaugly familiar to Harry. JKR doesn't put stuff like that in for no reason. I wonder if he had anything to do with where Dumbledore went when he left Hogwarts.

I believe Aberforth was the Spy who was thrown for the building during Sybil's Prophesy.

That is possible but I have to agree with american cutie. Aberforth was in the Order and I think we would have heard if one of the Order turned spy for Voldemort, especially Dumbledore's brother. I think, for some reason that is not yet apparent but will be important, that he is the barkeep and possible owner of the Hog's Head.

I can't remember reading anywhere that the bar guy from the Hog's Head lookeed like DD? *confused* Could someone let me know as to whereabouts it is?

Also, I agree that Alberforth will become one of the mojor characters! I just thought that the whole thing about DD introducing him with the charms onthe goat thing was very interesting sounding, and... I don't really know, but when I read it, I was defintaly thinking that this guy is going to be in the books more!

I wonnder what his rold will be though? Do we know if he's still part of the OotP? If so, why did Mundungeous still go to the HH to watchout for Harry? Also, if it's DD's brother who runs the HH, why has he thrown Mundungeous out? Granted, he's probably not the best of people, but you owuld think that for something as important as making sure that Harry was safe (at that time) that if Alberforth was int he OotP, he woudl have allowed Mundungous in???

I hope there'll be much more about him, that he is a strange bloke shouldn't be puzzling if he is DD's bro but I hate when author knows everything about his characters and I don't. I wouldn't forgive JKR not giving us an idea of how DD's family and life before Hogwarts was.

My bet is that Aberforth will come of greater importance in following books, the fact that Moody knew nearly nothing about him is veru revealing.

God sake... Aberforth is DD's relative. I know that a good family does not mean good personality, but I do reaaly belive Aberforth will become an importat character in the future...

Aberforth will appear soon. He just has to. Following the other similar introductions of Sirius and Luna - mentioned in a book and then brought in later on in the series. It wouldn't amke sense to mention him in 2 books and for him not to appear.
