Class Rings, or any other kind of important ring

Postby TDM » Tuesday 17 February 2004 12:04:03am

if you're old enough, what does yours look like?

mine is silver, with an aquamarine (december birthstone) in the center. it says LINDSAY HOLY FAMILY (my school) around the stone, with 2006 on one side of the ring, and a bulldog on the other. it also has my first intial, middle and last names engraved on the inside.

so, share what your class ring looks like

I don't have one...

I considered getting one...purely based on the idea of pawning it while I was stressed for money in college...but decided to...get a car instead. (tells you how much my car is worth huh???)

but it would have been pink...let me tell you

We don't have them in Austria either. Do you get them when you finish school? In Austria, when you did your A-levels the whole class goes on a holiday together. That's a nice tradition too. Never heard about rings though. :(

yes, you have to buy it. unfortunatley, mine cost a little more than i would have liked, but oh well, it's really nice. and it's not like you have to buy one. two guys in my class didn't get one. another nver wears his. and the girls' are pretty much glued to their fingers.

(BTW, in America, a guy usually gives it to his girlfriend to wear. alas, haven't done that yet...)

At my school, it's more of an extra addition. It could be cause people in my school are poor....*shrug*

I think it's just another sign that American markets EVERYTHING. If it's an event to remember, someone somewhere's gonna make money off of it.

It's ridiculous the amount of "Senior memorabilia" they're shoving down my throat this year. Like, senior GYM shorts??? I can wear them....this year...and my senior year in college, and when I'm a senior citizen.....Woohoo. It's absurd....all of this marketing...in the name of memories.

Never heard of them either. Here, the students in their final year, have a big ceremony where they get green ribbons for good luck on their final exams, they wear them for the rest of year before exams.
