Firenze

Who do you like best and who could you definately live without? Will there be romance in the air for any of them and who will end up with who?

I love the character of Firenze, he is very mysterious and very different to all the other centaurs in the forest. I'm glad he came back in the 5th book and we got to learn that he IS different from the other centaurs in wanting to change the future and not believing so much in destiny.

I agree that he's mysterious, but I'm not as fascinated as you are. I was too sorry for poor Trelawney to really enjoy in his classes but I kind of felt sorry for him too. Other centaurs are really brutal

Somehow I'm not really fascinated by him. He should be interesting as an centaur, but I see him almost in the same way as Hermione does.

I see him as a person with "special talents"...as a current student of astronomy (not astrology) I see a lot of the thinks that Firenze talks about in his astrologic sense and I want to know more about his knowledge of telling the future...he has more to bring to the story and I think he knows more than he is telling but isn't going to tell because of the way humans have treated him

I am almost positive that near the end, ALL of the centaurs will join dumbledore. One of the big themes of this book is staying together. The concept with inter-house unity was stressed in the 5th book, and it is clear that they will have to band together to defeat Voldemort. So, even if the centaurs don't like helping humans, they will join them in the end.

I totally agree, Trelawney was better, but only because its really funny to read what Ron & Harry say when they`re in class....

Nah... I think they wouldn't want to "divinate" (what's the correct verb to write here?) more... Just drinking tea and droping the leaves into the bin basket, even if they say: "Die Harry (or Ron)! Die..."
