I´m sure that the locked room in the DoM has a relevant part in Voldie´s death/destruction. On the other hand maybe Harry just gives him a little push though the veil...

Funny... you're willing to kil VGoldemort in a "moreconventional" way... So is magic conventional? or do you want to throw him into the Niagara falls?

Personally, I don't think Voldie will be killed with an Unforgiveable... too bad.  Avada Kedavra has no guarantee of working, Harry wasn't strong enough to perform the Cruciatus (and that is prolly easier than A.K., I bet) even when he had the greatest incentives in the world, and Rowling has put way too much emphasis on L.V. being conquered by love for that not to be a major part of his death.

Love is clearly a part of magic that voldie does not understand, and he underestimates it! I agree too Tuima, that too much empahsis has been put on this! I wonder about this room in the MOM that is kept locked? doesn't this study love or something along those lines... i can't quite remember!

Sacred Guardian wrote:right, but voldemort can't be destroyed with avanda kedavra, remember, that is what backfired on him, and what hagrid said "i doubt he had enough human left in him to die" i think at this point it might make him stronger, harry has to kill him with the power of love in some way

But Voldemort took his human form when he rose to power again in GoF. He settled for mortality first so he could work on becoming immortal agian later. Therefore A.K. would work on him.

However, I think the love thing will do him in.

The Cruciatus by the way needs "some powerful dark magic", which Harry does not practice - that's why he failed.

The locked room - DD said:

"There is a room in the Department of Mysteries that is kept locked at all times. It contains a force that is at once more wonderful and more terrible than death, than human intellignece, than the forces of nature... It is the power held within that room that you possess in such quantities and which Voldemort has not at all. That power took you to save Sirius tonight. That power also saved you from possession by Voldemort, because he could not bear to reside in a body so full of the force he detests... It was your heart that saved you."

He doesn't actually say it is love, but I suppose it is implied.

it's the main set up of the series though, in my opinion and i can't see her changing themes throughout the series!! she's not messing with heads! not in my opinion anyway!
