I am going with Harry Potter, sry. I read the Hobbit in 7th grade, and it was a great book. I read the first two of the LOTR series. I didnt like the 1st one that much, and the 2nd one is ok. Im trying to find time to read the 3rd one. But for now, HP is all the way!!!

HP and LotR are so different that it's impossible to compare them. The only similarity is that they are both highly popular and epic fantasy novels.
THEY'RE BOTH GREAT!!

lol you sound so much like a movie fan....

those 'elephants' are actually oliphants (according to hobbits) or mumakils if you are elven.....and they are ridden by men from the south....

for those people who don't bother to read the books, you are missing big time on things like Tom Bombadil, Old Man Willow, the Barrow whights, the Scouring of the Shire and the killing of Saruman

Samwise Gamgee has a total of 13 children by the end of the book, Peregrin has one...

anyway im still of the opinion you cant compare them, they are both brilliant....
