I still have some hope in Malfoy, but I dont think that he'll have a complete turn around, so he wont end up like sirius (being in the order, and so on...), but I think that there is at least a couple good atoms lost inside that boy somewhere!

Yeah i reckon so too. I know that it was back in the first book and he will have done some growing up since then, but i still see him in many ways as the little boy who was terrified in the forbidden forest.
I think that there are a lot of expectations placed on him by his father, and by being all round mean in hogwarts may make him think that he's somehow living up to that.
I would be really interested to see JK write into the books about Malfoy's homelife, that way we could get a better understanding of him.

I get the impression that the Malfoys are a close-knit family. This is because Draco always seems to know what Lucius and the other deatheaters are up to. It could be because Lucius and Mrs. Malfoy (can't remember her first name) talk openly to/around Draco about their plans.

Also on a seperate note Malfoy's parents do seem to care about how he does in school. His mum always sends him chocolates and stuff and his Dad takes an active interest in how he does in school (when he comments that Draco couldn't beat Hermione in the exams)

Do you think that Draco looking up to Snape would make him choose another path than his father's? I think Draco sees Snape as a Death Eater, I doubt he can know about him being a spy. Maybe if Snape gave up this job for the Order, he could become a model of something like 'not all Slytherins are evil', showing the Slytherins that they can choose other than Voldemort.

I just can't see Draco not being a bad guy, but then, with JKR everything is possible. Yet I don't believe it.

Aw, poor Draco. I can't see him becoming DE, he's not quite as brave as Lucius (yet, maybe). I see him as a Wormtail sort of personality. But I doubt he'd ever work for the good guys. He'd prolly work for Voldy for awhile then get skeered or get himself killed by an auror.
