Things you find beautiful

Postby Broccoli » Friday 12 September 2003 1:17:34pm

There are some things that are not supposed to be aesthetical or so but that I find very beautiful. For example, I find beautiful an envelope with all the stamps and post marks, accurately placed on it, filling most of the free space. It's hard to explain, but when I bring a letter to the post office, I only have addresses on it, and then the envelope becomes filled with all those things and I get this feeling of wholeness...

Can you also think of something like this?

A bookshelf with all the books neatly in their place and in alphabetical order. (No, I'm not a perfectionist )

My planner, notebook, free reading book, and folder all stacked neatly on my desk in order from largest to smallest (not that I do this EVERY day...hehe)

When I have written a story and have printed the final product out...now that's beauty if I have ever seen it...the creamy paper with the dark ink, all twisting together to make a wonderfully beautiful web of fiction...

(I get enthralled by them every time..)

Also, for some reason, a mathematical equation has beauty.

You sound just like my math teacher! But yes, I do agree.

One more thing that came to mind is a freshly printed masterpiece for an essay you've worked for long and hard and now it's finished ... The smell of the pure white paper ...
