Sirus/Snape

Who do you like best and who could you definately live without? Will there be romance in the air for any of them and who will end up with who?

Sirus/Snape

Postby LaceyCrane » Tuesday 29 July 2003 11:59:31pm

After Snape's worst memory I really felt differently about Sirus. I always thought Snape was the bad one always messing with the Mauraders like Malfoy messes with Harry and Co. But now its just the opposite.

This thread is perhaps not exactly repetitive, since it's a poll... but if you want the different opinions as to how people felt about Sirius and James after OotP, there are already various threads in this forum on "Characters" dealing with James and Sirius individually, and also several other threads in the Discussion forum of the Book 5 sections touching on the same subject. You might like to search out for such topics instead?

I didn't realy know what to vote. There should of bin something in'a middle... both Snape and James where probably equal in their stupidety... I guess Snape had some bad moments too... but I love Snape more than James

After Snape's worst memory, I feel differently about James rather than Sirius. James did all of the bullying, Sirius was just going along with it all.

I guess I look at james in a new light too...but really Snape and the Mauraders were teenage boys...full of surging testosterone...feeling a need to top then enemy...I tend to look at it like Snape was a depressed dark character who found entertainment in learning Dark Arts, however he really wished he looked nice, and was popular like James...so he resented them and treated The Maruaders poorly first, so James and Co. being dumb teenage boys acted violently in their pay back to Snape...and so the chain continues...the only reason Harry and Ron do not act this way towards Draco is because of hermione...she is an active voice of reason...Lupin was a voice of reason to Sirius and James, but he was lukewarm and did not voice that reason...how many times has Hermione controled Harry's temper or held Ron's fists back???? A lot...and they don't act totally dumb like James and Co. because Harry and Ron and hermione have a lot going on...James never had an evil psycho master mind after him, so he had time to worry about Snape's dumb antics...

James at 15 was like a lot of teenage boys. But James didn't use counterspells to combat Snape. He used ones to embarass Snape.

When Sirius and Lupin tried to tell Harry James was just 15, Harry told them he was 15 also. And both of them felt guilty. Sirius admitted he was wrong, and Lupin admitted that he didn't tell them they were out of line was wrong.

Harry has violated many rules, but never to embarass enother person (well, except Malfoy at the shrieking shack).

Plus Snape is equally guilty. He should have asked Harry how he felt about that moment in the pensive. Harry would have admitted he was ashmed of the way his father acted.

Why would Snape ask how Harry felt about invading someone elses personal memory (its worse then reading somebody's diary) when he was obviously even more humiliated by the moment because somebody else saw it. Harry's the one who should have gone to Snape and talked about it. I still hope they do that in the next book at least.

If Harry would have gone to speak to Snape about it, I think Snape would have been on the verge of doing Harry a serious injury. Snape's not the kind to believe that Harry didn't like what he saw, Harry reminds him too much of James

sirus and james were probably just the typical "jock" at school, but it dosn't mean that they are bad people. i mean, after all, they did mature. plus, harry waz probably more rational than james b/c his mother wuz a rational one. we don't know much about james's parents

James actually acted like Malfoy would have acted (or even worse). ans And about Sirius my opinion has also changed.

Lupin, in the other hand, could have made them stop, but, actually, he was just trying not to ashame his friends. But he could have stoped them, indeed :D .

The memory didn't change my views of Sirius and James much. I did feel a bit sorry for Snape though

It kinda changed my opinion of Snape to an extent, i mean it must be pretty harsh getting picked on the way he was. but at the same time i dont think any different about james/sirius, i mean they were just being school boys werent they.

I changed my opinion about Snape and James!!!! I know James changed in the future, but that scene really hurt me. Poor Snape! That was really cruel, I wish James and Lily never got together!!!

But then there would be no Harry Potter :(

I hate when people are like James was when he was 16.

Yeah, that was a shock to me as much as it was a shock to Harry! I always thought James and Sirius were this nice great people that would help others when in need....
