Allusion to Legilimency in book 1

Which one is your favorite so far. Are they getting even better as the characters develop over time?

Didn't Snape actually do something for Dumbledore, namely spying on Voldermort 'at great personal risk', that made Dumbledore trust him, not necessarily DD 'reading his mind'! Or perhaps, he did both, to be sure :P!

By the way, Snape has the legilimens ability, because that's what he was doing with Harry! He pried around his mind and thoughts while Harry had to close his mind to that.

Oh yeh i forgot about that, thanks gecko.
I know its highly unlikely but couldn't Snape have just been sitting on the fence back then?

Although one needs a spell to actually read another's mind, I think one gifted in legilimens can sense some one telling the truth or falsehoods with out spells or magic...its just part of the gift.

So in PS when Harry lies to Quirrell's faces (he he) about not seeing the stone in the mirror, LV knew right away that Harry was lying...in book 5 we learn that LV is gifted in legilimens.

So perhaps Snape can sense when Harry has done wrong things, and that's why he is always knowing Harry's faults...like with the shredded boonslang stolen from the potion cupboards in CoS...although Harry did not steal it, he is not telling the whole truth because he is not telling Snape that Hermione took it...so Snape senses a lie, but cannot tell what the lie is really refering to...

Maybe someday the truth about the boomslang will come out, and Snape will stop riding harry's back about it...lol...
