Yikes, Ravenclaw have certainly brewed up some tough questions...If the prizes are ice-creams, I think Florean Fortescue's will still have a lot of stock left after this! :)

Here we go then - Ravenclaw's carefuly concocted quiz question are:

1) Name all the beasts given a XXXX classification, which aren't defined as being dangerous.
[ This question was edited 3rd August 2003 from the original version which was: Name all the beasts given a XXXX classification, which aren't really dangerous. ]

2) What event/s do we know of that happened in 1473?

3) Which finger off which hand did Peter Petigrew cut off?

4) What do we know happened in the year 1792?

5) What did Ron pickle, and why?

I need to check with Ravenclaw about whether they want to make one of the questions a bonus question, so I'll post the points structure once I've heard back from them. Meanwhile good luck everybody, and have fun figuring the answers out! :)

[added - Please discuss your answers and finalise your answers in your House common rooms, not in this thread (as other houses could see the answers if you discuss them here) - I'll collect them from the Common Rooms after the deadline (I'll anounce the deadline tomorrow) - thanks :) ]

Not sure about a bonus question...I'll have to check with Holly, Barry, and the other members of Ravenclaw. :) Hope you lot like the quiz! Also, since I've never been at BaO when a house did a quiz, do the houses discuss the quiz in their own houses meaning they should NOT post the answers they think of on this thread? :???: I just know someone won't read my post and start posting answers on this thread, which would, I believe, scr*w up the whole house competition over the quiz. :-? What should people do regarding this quiz (excepting Ravenclaws)? I think that should be stated on here so that people make sure to answer these questions with their house members in the privacy of their common rooms...does anyone know? Paul? Veteran members of BaO? :???:

Thanks lizzy - I'd forgotten to add the point about limiting discusion of the answers to your people's own House Common Room. I've jus added the bit in bold in the question post to emphasize the impotance of not posting the answers on this thread. :)

All the questions' answers can be found in Harry Potter books 1 - 4...that may seem like a no-brainer, but as there have been quizzes before that had non-Harry Potter questions, I just wanted to clarify this quiz contains nothing but Harry Potter questions! Have fun! :D

hehehe my bad. I know it's all about Harry Potter. I was thinking there might be more than one event happens i nthe same year. But i bet you're looking for the one that is the biggest event, that left a trace of legacy. :-) Say no more.. thanks anyway for reminding. :)

Okies, I've discussed this with the Ravenclaw Prefects and I can confirm that there is a bonus question hidden amongst the 5. Therefore 4 of the questions are worth 2 points, but one will be worth extra (but I'm not saying which one - hee hee!) :-) The deadline for answers will be Sunday 3rd July 2003 at 6.00PM British Summer Time (again, please remember not to post answers on this thread, but to only discuss and post answers in your House Common Rooms). :)

Good luck everyone. :double jump:

Some answers are in fantastic beats and/or quidditch, so you shoud say all answers are find in a book written by Jo.

I wasn't aware of that :)...Holly could be more definite than I on the nitty-gritty specifics, as I mainly made sure the questions got done :-) ...but if you say so, then it must be true, but I had the impression Holly found the answer to it in the books as well, but maybe not--good catch, Neo! :-)
