The Ultimate Dueling Question

Postby Voldemort » Monday 14 July 2003 6:55:27am

The way I see it, the ultimate duel is between Dumbledore and Volemort. I know that you may think it should be between Harry and Voldemort, but right now Harry is not powerful enough to actually take on Voldemort witht the hopes of defeating him, not just running away.

So who do you think would win, Voldemort or Dumbledore, assuming that Dumbledore would use all means to kill him?

I agree with Ju-DedoH, but also because LV seemed to have the upper hand during the duel at the MoM and DD is getting on a bit now.

Voldermort, because they have the same arsenal of spell but DD won't use some of them...therefore putting him at a disadvantage. Remeber he used several things to take the damage of spells Voldermort sent at him in the MOM but Voldermort countered DD best with ease.

I think that LV would probably win because he is more ruthless. But these are children's books, and that means that good is supposed to triumph over evil, which mean that DD is supposed to win.

yes but DD is not supposed to fight to death with VD, since he knows the prophecy, and is sure to die, he may be more pwerful and ressourceful, but vd can only be killed by harry ...

Considering the prophecy, the final duel should be between VD and Harry.
Of course, DD could help Harry through it, but it remains Harry's job to kill VD.
Anyway, if we must consider a duel between DD and VD, I erally think DD would defeat the black lord, they do not have the same arsenal, as DD says during their fight : they are other ways than killing its adversary, which can be even worse apparently.
And remember that DD is the only wizard VD is afraid of, whereas DD do not fear at all VD.
BUt well, the only thing we can be sure about, is that we'll have some great fights in the next books, involving Harry, DD and VD.

I don't think that Voltimort can kill Dumbledore, but on the same card, I don't think Dumbledore can kill Voltimort.

Anyone consider Harry trying to kill Voltimort with a non-magical fashion? I think a Magnum 44 could kill him personally, but it being a British author, I doubt that's the ending she'll choose.

Now, if it were a Hollywood movie . . .

Well KBIG104, nice way to take off all the magic !!!
:-?

anyway, only Harry can kill VD, so we'll just have to wait to see how he's going to manage this. Quite uneasy, don't you think ?

Voldemort Fate

Postby highsorcerer » Wednesday 16 July 2003 9:44:15am

There ARE worse things than death, and there is at least one way Harry could rid the world of Voldemort without killing him. Perhaps by putting a dementor under the Imperius Curse and telling it to kiss Voldemort good-bye?

Well the idea is pretty good.
But unfortunately I don not see this happening.
We can be sure about DD helping Harry to get rid of VD.
And as we all know, : "DD has style"
So I think the duel outcome will a little more peasant that a dementor kissing VD.
But I really expect JKR's imagination to surprise us one more time. That's why I read her books by the way...

DD is absolutely gonna win, but he don't wanna kill since he says death is not the worse thing and killing Voldemort does not satisfy him. You guys looking at the prophecy the diffrent way. The prophecy didn't say that both of them can't be killed by others but simply states that EITHER MUST DIE AT THE HAND OF OTHER FOR NEITHER CAN LIVE WHILE THE OTHER SURVIVE. THE ONE WITH THE POWER TO VANQUISH THE DRAK LORD WILL BE BORN AS THE SEVENTH MONTH DIES..

Dumbledore simply does not like to kill, even if it's the most evil person in the world. If it comes to who is the strongest. Dumbledore is the one.

"We both know there are other ways of destroying a man, Tom". Dumbledore said calmly.
