Hrmm, I'm totally loving the response to this topic! Sometimes I come up with far out sounding theories like this, and after a few responses, they just die off!!!

Anyways, one prob with something said... Gwared, about the clock room and the prophecy room being seperate... I'm not so certain about this... it seemed that the only way intot he prophecy room was through the clock room, as you call it, so how could it have had a door in the main entrance, and if it did, you would think that they would have taken itn intitally, no? because the first person that Voldie sent in to retrieve the prophecy was a Minestry person who worked in the DoMyst, no? So he woudl ahve known his way around? So I still think that those two are contained in one room, being the "time" room...

But then hey, we are all allowed to have different opinions!!! ;)

I liked the idea of a hate room at first, but then why woudl they study hate? Remember, people are studying the things in here... it makes sense as a counterpart, but I dont' like the idea of the MInestry studying hate.. :( ALso, I dotn' thnk that a future room can exist... a) I just dont't hinkt hat it's possible to ahev the future or parts of it contained in a room, and b) why woudl they have a room that no one can enter? Because you bv can't go into the future, so you coudlnt' study it if you can't enter it, so what's the point??? Also, along that point, how can you study though or wisdom???

I like the Fire Water Earth Air idea, but maybe more in one room (with sub-rooms) and Element door...

June: with fate and dentiny, would that all be tied up with prophecy?

Hrmm, so here what I'm thinking now..
1) entry.exit door
2) death chamber (with the veil)
3) time room (containing prophecies)
4) locked door (love???)
5) life room (w the brains)
6) planet room
7) elements (or nature)
8) music (containing all forms of art aswell)
9) possibly family (I kinda like that idea, but not certain on it.... I'm still getting back to what's the point of studying it, and would that just make is a sub-room of love???)

Oh, and to everyone, please dont' think that I'm knocking your by pointing out things that I disasgree with about them... Firstly, just becaue I think something, doesn't mean that I'm right!!! (usually not, jsut go ask Neo!!! ;) ) and secondly, I think that I'm just better at finding holes in theories rather than finding theories themselves... :-?

Holly ;)

PS, damn that was long! Congrats to people who actually amde it through it all!!! hehehe

hehehe! Nice try, but I don't think that there is much of a mystery to a bathroom!! Unless it's the one that the Room of Requirements became for DD! And we know that one wsn't in the DoMyst!!!

I just found something interesting, in the chapter 'Dumbledor's Army', the one in which the first DA meeting is held, Luna tells us, in amongst the Heliopath army thing, that Fudge uses the DoMyst to develop new poisons to kill his enemies with. There must be a room for this, so there could be a murder room or something. Or I suppose it could be part of the Death room that wasnt desribed to us.

Murder Room...? Somehow, I don't think so... -.-;; The DoM has rooms that studies space, intelligence, time, love etc... murder doesn't seem to fit in the overall picture...

June, I totally agree, I dont' think that the murder thing is really fitting to the other rooms we know are in the DoMyst... which is also why I dont' think that there is a Hate room either...

The guy sent in was under the imperius curse and thus fighting very hard (as stated in the book), as he knew if he touched the prophecy he would get right royally screwed in the head. Therefore it is possible he took an indirect route to try and buy some time whilst he resisted.

I think the brain room is definitely thoughts rather than 'life' or whatever was said. Remember someone said that Ron still had marks on his arms because thoughts could inflict more pain than anything else (or something)!
I love this topic, really enjoying reading all the responses!

Somebody thought it might be intelligence, but it mentions thought when it is refered to after Ron's comical accio brain scene.
