he is not dead !!!!!!!

Which one is your favorite so far. Are they getting even better as the characters develop over time?

What did you think about Nearly Headless Nick's thoughts on Ghosts? I thought it was sad, Not really being part of this world, but afraid of the next. Sirius would never be afraid of moving on...

JK stated that book 6 will explain and clarify the ghosts issues even more in book 6. Still, it sucks that he's gone, his death didn't shock me though as much as the Ron/Hermione mock-deaths. Out of these I'd rather it was him - sorry Black fans. :(

no return from the undiscovered country

Postby Professor » Monday 7 July 2003 9:19:06pm

I'd be shocked if he comes back. One of the best things about JK is her desire to relate some real life lessons, and certainly, acceptance of loss has been a main theme. I believe he is dead, never to return to life. He certainly won't return as a ghost. I agree that he would not be afraid of death. Besides, he is hopefully with James, now.

Too bad, he was one of my favorite characters by far. I felt quite heartbroken that it turned out to be him!

Let's not read too much into that clause though guys, it could be that sirius will reappear in the later films through memories/the pensieve etc.

First and Formost...I am in denial. I can't believe he's dead, that would...cast my little heart into the feared black void that is heartbreak...*get far to emotional*

But I agree with Professor...I think the strength behind Sirius' death makes the book all the more real. It shocked and hurt me, which is something very hard for a book to achieve.

But I don't know whether to...congradulate her...or...damn her to the darkest BLACK VOID...*breathes* Sorry...still, in denial :-?

sirius will not come back alive, like has been said, going through the veil is like having an avanda kedavra put on you, it kills you, because no one can be alowed into the world of the dead while they are alive

Exactly! Plus, why do you think JKR cried soo much when she was killing him off?

The only way he will come back is in Harry's dream or smth.

i agree with you ....
i avoided everything about the 5^ book while i was reading it, because i wanted to find by myself what was happening and who was going to die ... JKR cried many tears writing those pages ... that means it was an important character, to which many of us where affected .... my choice was btw sirius and lupin .... unfortunately i was right ...

i like very much sirius! from a pov, i'd like him to come back ... i just keep on sayin' that he's not dead, he's just trapped beyond the veil .... BUT ... as some of you already said, JKR said that people who died, won't come back ....
but still i couldn't accept it ... is he REALLY dead???

that question is driving me crazy!

In an interview with the CoS DVD JK stated her favorite characters to be Sirius and Lupin. I'm not sure if she was refering to overall or just from the third book but I think she loved Sirius's character and was sad to be killing him.
