Well i dont think that that is the case, more that both him and voldie cant co-exist in the world at the same time. So basically one has to kill the other, that is unless one of them dies by other means, such as harry jumping off a building.
thats how i interprated it....

But wizards do have the tendency to be able to sustain more damage than muggles. Neville bumped on the ground when he was thrown out of the window instead of breaking something, and Harry fell quite often from his broomstick while playing quidditch, and he never had anything lifetheatening.

Then again, if the building is 400 m. high or something, it's hard to survive that even for a wizard.

yeah but the time harry fell from a dnagerous height off his broomstick he didnt get injured because Dumbledore caught him and floated him down to earth......

i think its quite possible harry could die by accident/hagrid's pets but i dont think any wizard/witch other than volde could kill him

1. anyone would be scared of what happened to volde when he tried and
2. anyone will be terrified of volde not liking them stealing the moment

i did have the thought though that maybe death eaters might try and kill harry if harry kills voldemort though.....

Good thought, if Harry kills Voldemort, the prophecy is complete and that means that Harry then can be killed by anyone (in theory).. Because if he's able to kill Voldemort no other wizard is able to kill Harry I think.

i don't know about death eaters trying to kill harry if he killed voldy. i think they would be too afraid of him since they are deathly afraid of voldy.

yeah but they have nothing left to lose, now that people like bellatrix are already known death eaters, if harry kills volde they have no protection, i reacon bellatrix would love to kill harry, she seems the type

mayt aswell go out and get revenge for their dead master since they are going to prison/dying anyway if caught.....

i took the prophecy to mean that even now Harry can be killed by anything. its just that Voldemort cannot be killed by anyone but Harry. i did not think it went both ways. its more of a "this world ain't big enough for the both of us" kind of thing.

but the prophecy is that Harry will not die by anything else. that Harry will not be falling off of a really tall building any time soon, because the prediction is that either Harry or Voldemort will die at the hands of the other. If Harry were to die by falling, then the prophecy would be false.

I agree with violet's interpretation. I thought about it the same way. Nobody is immortal even in wizard standard. Like i post before in the prophecy post. It doesn't mean Harry can't die by another cause neither does Voldy.

 Wrong spelling... Lizzy can u remove the first one for me. Thanks

seeing as i havent really re-read the section on the prophecy yet i'm not 100% sure of what was meant, but from what people are saying mayb one can only die at the hands of the other....

either must die at the hand of the other for neither can live while the other survives

It means only Harry is able to kill Voldemort and vice versa.
Accidents do happen, like Harry falling off a tall building but contrary to popular belief, he will not die even if he falls from space right down back to Earth. My theory is that, something will always happen to prevent Harry's premature death (Just like Dumbledore saved Harry from the fall in PoA)
It is sort of like cause and effect. Without Voldemort killing Harry, Harry will not die.
I dunno if i explain it well (seems like a speech from The Architect to me  )
