i cant see hagrid coming up with something like that on his own.
Dumbledore would but i dont think anyone else would...i think most people would automatically assume volde dead if they saw his body

Yes it could, since Hagrid says that to Harry 10 years later

i think sokem is right i really don't think that they would assume him to be dead if it was still there.i think that he probably just vanished or someone moved his body.to make people think that nothing happened to him or something like that

he probably just vanished or someone moved his body
Or he was able to drag himself away (with no magic powers left), and then before he died he transfered himself into a new body with some potions.

Yeah, but the whole point is HOW he was moved. Because what we are trying to figure out here is how he managed to get a hold of his wand later on.
I thought that may be some powerful wizards can make it reappear in their hands.
Anyway - this topic is to confusing and way to many ifs

ok so heres an idea someone like a wizard who knew where the house was could have gathered up some of his friends like woldi's followers and could have done the spell that was in PoA where the strecher floated with the body in it and had a invisibility cloack(s/p) so no one could see them its an idea and it may be far fetched but it works

Voldemort's body dissapeared, surely it just burnt; but the wand was rescued somehow by Peter.

I honestly dont' think that anyone took the body away.. I think that it either was destroyed when the spell backfired, or was burnt down with the house... *didnt' someone say that the house burnt down???* but more that likel, the first one!!!

Yeah, I think that Hagrid said something about the house being reeduced to nothing. I've always been under the assumption that LV's body was destroyed along with the house, and whatever soul he had left was able to escape, rendering him able to be 'born' again.

Book 1, where Hagrid is describing how he pulled Harry out of the ruin when he was a baby. I'm far too lazy to walk upstairs and look through the book.
