Anyway, that is a good point. But Lucius hasn't been formally accused of being a DE, either. I mean, who knows, perhaps he will and get acquitted of it all, thus clearing his path to the position.

They were accused, as Fudge said to Harry at the end of GoF, and acquitted. So basically, they were suspected, and it doesnt' count if they prove that you were a DE but not via your own free will, only acting under the imperius curse.

There is a big diff between suspecting someone was a DE and having they confess tehmselfes to being one!

But I still think that it will be excellent if Luciuos does become MOM!!!

It would depend on how the MON was appointed!

Yeah, good point. I think that Lucius is one of the most powerful wizards that we've come across in the series. Other than DD, I can't really think of anyone who has stood up to his presence. What's to really stop him from becoming MoM?

I mean, we know that DD&Co wouldn't support his appointment, but that's really only about twenty wizards. We already know that the Ministry doesn't higher the most admirable of wizards (Bagman, Crouch, McNair, etc,) so what's to say that there aren't many more wizards just like them hiding out in Ministry positions. I really don't whole-heartedly trust the Ministry.

And I do think that were Lucius to really want the position enough (or for LV to want him to want the position,) then he'd have no trouble at all obtaining it.

Well, as Holly mentioned it all depends in how the MoM is decided, I think Hagrid mentiond, "they wanted DD to be Ministry of Magic", wonders who is them.
