What are you most looking forward to about book 5?

Postby Lizzy Bennet » Monday 2 June 2003 8:17:32pm

Since we're at 18 days (and counting!), I thought it might be fun to start a topic about all the things we're looking forward to learning about/having happen/etc. in book 5. I probably haven't worded all this too greatly, but oh well!

I am looking forward to the Trio (and their friends and enemies) having to take their OWLs as a part of their 5th year at Hogwarts. I admit that, although I don't want too much of it, I am interested in seeing who starts dating whom in OoTP. I am quite interested in knowing who is a part of the order of the Phoenix and what that group will do. I'm sure I'll cry at whoever's death occurs, and something tells me what happens to this person is as crushing as who it happens to.

It seems to me, from what I've read about book 5 that we'll learn a great deal about Harry's mother as well as the Dursleys, which should be interesting, as we don't know a lot about either. Like in Book 3, we should be getting background again regarding Harry's parents, which is always interesting. :) I know it's been rumored that this book will be even darker than book 4, which should make for some compelling, though tough in some places, reading.

What about you? What are you looking forward to in book 5? I have a feeling I *might* not have put this post in the right section, so I apologize, in advance, to the moderators! Bear with me, I am a newbie after all. I just wanted to start a topic about book 5 and what all there is to look forward to in the *hopes* it might tide me over until I can read the book! I am *so* excited!

Erm, everything! That better count as an answer.

Anyway, I definitely want to learn more about Harry's past. His parents, their professions, their days at school, why Voldemort wanted to kill them, etc.

Meh, am serious starting to develop a disease from all this waiting. These are going to be the longest eighteen days, four hours, and sixteen minutes of my life. (Not like I installed a countdown on my desktop, or anything.) ;)

I figure, when I get my book on June 21, I won't be able to come to the Forum until I finish reading it. I can imagine this place will *explode* with posts every which direction! I'm not sure I'll be able to keep up! :o I hope I don't come to the Forum, after reading the book, and feel all overwhelmed. This seems like a friendly group of people and a respectful forum, so I'm sure I have nothing to worry about. :-)

Can't wait to finally get ANSWERS . . . come on book 5!!!

Don't expect too much answers, exams have control over almost everyone, and by the time exams are finished the book comes out.

Hehe! I meant get answers from the book (which I, and everyone else, has been eagerly waiting for) when I read it, not from posters beforehand (no pressure, people!)! But I easily see how I could have been misread . . . I'll have to watch that! :D

I'm looking forward to meeting Lupin and all the old crowd... And of course to following the way in which the whole war is going to develop. I don't think we'll see much of it till the very end of the book, though...

Lol, that part is going to be fun. Seeing how right or wrong we were in all of our excessive theorizing! 13 days...13 days...Ugh, this is going too slow. I need to get myself a time turner and move thirteen days ahead!

The question Harry asked Dumbledore in the end of Book one, about why voldemort wanted Harry dead, I think Dumbledore is going to answer that, so thats the think im looking forward to the most. But I guess I really am just looking forward to reading the book in general, and with less then two weeks way, there is not long now to wait.
