I don't doubt that Snape could have gottenthe stone if he watned it, but when I kinda meant was maybe Snape thought Quirell just wanted the stone form himself... You know, maybe Snape didnt' that Quirell was trying to get the stone for Voldie, just for Quirells own selfish purposes???

That could be, so then Voldemort could think that Snape isn't agaisnt him really, just against Quirell from having the stone.

hm, I'm not sure...as far as I remember, Snape told Quirrell he had to decide which side he's on...
And why would someone who just wanted the SS for himself try to kill Harry Potter?

Okies, two things... Snape told Quirell to decide where his loyalty lies... maybe he say that statement as such... if Quirell wanted to reamin loyal to DD, he woudn;'t try to steal something from him... And just because you arent' loyal to a preson anymore, doesn't mean that you haev to join forces with his enemy...

Also, if Snape knew that it was Quirell cursing Harry, dont' you think that he would haev just gone up to him and physically made him stop, by someting like breaking his eye contact, since they were so close togehter??? I think that Snape just recognised the curse, but didnt' know where it was coming from...

I think that is the only wa fr Snape to have a chance to return to the DE, if that is his mission, no?

Yeah, I know, which is why I think that Snape didnt' know that it wsa Quirell, just knew that someone was cursing Harry... :circling:

Okay, I'll try to explain. It seems that Snape will return with the DE as an spy (in case this is true), Severus has to convince Voldemrt that when he stopped Quirell from getting the SS, he wasn't doing it because he was loyal to DD, no?
