Will now be all unlearned and American: What exactly are A levels? I've heard of them but am not sure whether or not they're a nationally administered exam (like SATs) or a school thing.

a-levels are exams taken in english and welsh schools (equivalent of highers in scotland) usually taken around the age of like 17 or 18 i would have thought just before you go off to university

in the scotish schools its possible to take advanced highers and a-level is slightly better than higher but not as good as advanced higher so it gets kinda confusing if you wanna cross the border when applying for universities *sighs*

Ah, so they look a bit like SATs. Yeah, I was actually thinking of applying to some schools in England for college and was trying to figure out the equivalent requirments and was completely lost. Fianlly decided that it wasn't worth the trouble and that 3,000 miles is quite far away!
Lol Azn, two more weeks until SATs and then they're done forever!
