Fluffy...

Which one is your favorite so far. Are they getting even better as the characters develop over time?

Something that I just recently found, which pertains to Madam Rosmerta:
(From Encyclopedia Mythica)
In Gaulish Celtic mythology, Rosmerta was the goddess of fire, warmth, and abundance. A flower queen and hater of marriage, Rosmerta was also the queen of death. A Celtic goddess of fertility and wealth, whose cult was widely spread in Northeast Gaul. Rosmerta was the wife of Esus, the Gaulish Hermes. Her attributes are a cornucopia and a stick with two snakes.

Being the goddess of abundance makes sense, after all, she owns the Three Broomsticks. But a stick with two snakes? It could be nothing, but in HP snakes have repeatedly been associated with evil and Lord Voldemort. Could Madam Rosmerta spy? Could the Three Broomsticks be a hideout of sorts?

If I needed a spy, I think she'd be a perfect one...she's pretty, friendly, everybody likes her and therefore talks with her...and trusts her of course!

That sounds very interesting; I really like it, I mean Rosmerta is always hearing everything and actslike eerything is new to her.

(this topic shouldn't be Fluffy, should be Latin and Greek derivatives)

'Fluffy Latin/Greek Derivatives' would make for a pretty cool topic...
And another thing I've thought of regarding Madam Rosmerta. What's the one thing that has been described in connection to Madam Rosmerta in all of the books? And what's the one thing that could be seen beneath the cloak of a Death Eater? Shoes. Whay would JKR go to so much detail to describe a characters shoes it it wasn't to play some improtant role? Every time I read the HP books, it bugged me that her shoes were described in so much detail and this is really the only explanation I can see for it. In future book I could imagaine Harry being at some Deathe Eater congregation and noticing a pair of sparkly shoes and later on working it out that it was Rosmerta. Just a thought...

yeah, i never noticed that before, but a good observation, maybe JKR is hinting at somthing in later books about shoes

I liek the shoe thing, and now that it'sbeen pointed out, I can definately see it playing in somewhere further in the books..

But I really hope that Madam Rosmerta doesnt' turn evil... She just seems way too nice... :( I think it's going possibilities though!

We can trust Harry, no?

And Madame Rosmerta doesn't seem that nice, I mean she is a waitress she has to look good, but she likes to poke her nose everywhere.

Exactly, that is why they are such good spies; it is just like James Bond movies, this kid of ladies seem to get all the information, and are easily tempted by the dark side.

Yeah, she's definitely in an excellent position for obtaining information and gossip from both sides. And the fact that, from what we know, she's been established as a "good" character, makes me think that a nice plot twist is in order.
