 Thanks. I really appreciate all the support, guys. Here's something I wrote a few weeks ago, it has got to be the longest poem I've ever written.
I don't really have any other poems at the moment, I've been more focused on noveling lately. But I'll get around to it sometime!

Here's a poem I just wrote, let's hope it's not cr*p...

Clocks are spinning backwards
The hourglass flows up
A wineglass cured from spinning shards
A bowl becomes a cup
Arrow shoots away from lark
To impact with the bow
A candle lit brings forth the dark
To starve the seeds we sow
Hair grows short as trees grow tall
Birds advance to eggs
The hand is thrown into the ball
The rich pay for the dregs
Butterflies soon lose their wings
When getting long of tooth
The silence is the one that sings
This is the final truth
When time flows the other way
Who is to name the youth?

Life is wrought with peril
Death regards with fear
One a morbid carol
One no one can peer
Into-- When you stay
You feel it in your heart
Why no one can say
Death and life are not apart

Random scenes of mysterious content
Stem out from the pen
A gleeful smile with kindred eyes
Attacks the unwatched den
A blade of grass quivers in the wind
As roaring thunder covers
Foraging hearts with hungering eyes
Longing for what cannot be discovered
Who sits in the center
Head in their hands?
Waiting, deserving
A strong reprimand?
Tis I, tis I
The Queen of the Land

A mysterious Watcher with
Laughable snide
Works in the guardhouse with
Remarkable pride

A legible note passed
From hand to hand
A predictable scheme lies
Shattered on the sand

An audible sound brings
A light to the dark
A possible fate leaves
Its own special mark

A punishable vision
Visible to few
Spurs secret revision
To bring in the new

In a world free of flaws
We have little to do

I've just had a read of all your poems and they are excellent, Fawkes! I particularly like the one that speaks 'backwards'. The hand is thrown in the ball... something like that. It really stopped me and made me think! Wow. I love poetry. Also I loved how you said one of your poems were written on a tissue! I think we've had chats before on another discussion about where we write... we start that up again! lol! I should be writing more too... I do so love writing, and poetry is more my forte than novelling only because it can be done so quickly. Plus, I love running with other people's ideas in RPG too.

But to recap, thanks for sharing all your poems with us Fawkes, and keep them coming!

xx

Thanks, Distortia! It's always nice to hear feedback about writing! Now, when will we be seeing a Poetry by Distortia thread, hmmm?

Really?! You would like to see that? I'm seriously touched! I was thinking I would LOVE to start a thread like that! lol.... but I'm afraid of not being good enough. I suppose all us writers feel that way. It's important to share and get positive and negative feedback! I shall start one tonight.. and I know just the poem!

hee hee... was this inspired by your general feelings toward maths lessons? Were you having trouble understanding and just zoned out? I appreciate the feeling of 'strife' when it comes to maths classes... Good for you! lol!

My aunty had some old notebooks from highschool floating around my Nanny's house and in the margins she had written "Life sucks!!!" I was quite young when I read it and thought "Geeze! Teenagers always seem to be angry and hate life. I don't want to be a teenager ever!"

But some of the best stuff comes out when people write about what's bothering them. Teenaged ...now let me get this right... Angst. "an acute but unspecific feeling of anxiety; usually reserved for philosophical anxiety about the world or about personal freedom" (from some random website free dictionary thingo - can't quote it properly cause websites won't come up in here...)

Keep it coming, Fawkes! Where will you scrawl next? hee hee.....

lol! Actually, it wasn't that I didn't understand the lesson; it was that other people didn't, so we were going over it again, and again, and again.... Commence zonage. This one right here was during English, and again, on the margins of my paper....

A fraction of a second is
Enough to change the tide
A minute of your life is
Opportunity of pride

A slowly creeping fortress
Is an enigma in the dark
Every bit of information pressed
Will leave tangible mark

If something's worth your heart and time
Who cares about an extra dime?
