House Points.

Hi there!
I was thinking that if this site had house points and the prefects for each house could give/take points at their own will. Maybe you cann give points for activeness, interesting posts, successful threads, friendly behaviour, ect.
And take for double posting, lots of mistakes ( carelessness in posts )
Also, on everyone's profile there could be a rank of how many points they have collected over the time, and how many points they have reprived their own house of.
Just a bit of friendly competition.
So anyone think it could work ? Or anyone like the idea ?

I love that idea. A couple other HP forums I'm on have House tournaments going on right now.

Sounds like a good idea. Would have to be very careful on the double posts stuff to make sure were weren't taking points away for accidents.

Would be nice if we got this if we could link it up with the House Quiz that we used to have, either that the house would win points for winning or that we prefects could award points to the house members who helped take part, it might make ressurecting the Quiz a bit easier, I think people have asked to bring it back several times, House points could be just enough incentive to make it work.

What would you do about those who are not in houses, though? I'm not in a house and I'd like to have the point system implemented to me.

You have 582 posts, why haven't you been sorted yet? Anyone with over 25 non-spam posts can and usually is Sorted into a House therefore its your own fault if you can't have the points system applied to you. I mean if you aren't in a House where are your points going to go? And if you choose one of the Houses for this then didn't you ought to be getting yourself sorted into that House given its clearly your fave.

I'm sure I saw an application for Ravenclaw with Salemboy's posting details on it. Or maybe I'm just going cookoo.

Riley's actually right. I applied in my user control panel for Ravenclaw. So, it is not my fault that I'm not in a house. .

ok, well I recommend you go kick the mods. Or post in the Sorting Hat thread, theres an active Ravenclaw in there, someone just got sorted.

Doing it that way should have sent the ravenclaw mods each an email and even if that got lost they should still see your request everytime they sort someone else unless the forum ate it.

Onto the sorting hat. Sheeesh, and I was just getting used to being independant.
