Hogwarts '06/7

A home for old scenarios who may have come to an end for RPG playing but whose life and excitement can still be enjoyed in story form.

It was dinner time. Dinas glanced around at all the team members. They were noticeably nervous about the upcoming tournament. All the other students, however - especially those that would be spectators - were extremely excited.

Misty picked at her dinner the night before they had to leave, she didn't feel hungry enough anymore to eat the Roast Chicken or potatoes she had piled on her plate.

She sighed and got. Time for an early night I suppose

Lily stared at a dish of carrots. She couldn't eat even though chicken was her favorite. The dull pounding of her heart in her ears seemed to muffle the extremely raucous students laughing, talking, and betting on the out-come of the Tournament.
Lilly felt sick. As she was running out to the bathroom, she heard one Ravenclaw boy, third year, he looked like, say to one of his fellows."If we don't win, I'll throw a load of dung-bombs at myself."
Lily couldn't help thinking that there would be a horibble stench in the Ravenclaw common room for awhile.

One by one, the players left the Great Hall to get an early night. The Slytherins left togther in a large group, wandering down to the dungeons. Dinas, seeing this, followed silently behind them, and waited for the ideal moment to strike.

He chose his timing perfectly; just as Warrington came to the bottom of the stairs, Dinas flicked his wand and undid the boy's shoes.

"You go on, I've gotta do up my shoes," the Slytherin Keeper told his friends. The others ambled off, nodding.

Warrington bent down to do his laces, and heard someone breathing behind him. He turned around swiftly and was thrown against the wall forcefully, his bones cracking on the cold, hard stone. Pinned against the wall, he stared into the face of his attacker. He could not speak, or shout. The last thing he saw before the dungeon went black, was a powerful flash of red light. His unconscious body slumped to the floor.

Dinas lowered his wand, and apologised to the form lying stiff on the floor. But he wasn't sorry at all; in his mind, he was doing the right thing.

Misty grabbed a towel, once she was in her dorm and headed towards the showers.

She got undressed and slipped into the shower. She clapped twice and said "On" and immediately she felt the heat of the water run down her back. She loved these showers, sure bet the ones at home.
Perfect heat, perfect pressure...it was heaven inside a shower.

Dinas was in his office when the Slytherin Seeker, Sharpe, thrust open the door and rushed into the room.

"Yes?" Dinas said, raising an eyebrow.

"It's Warrington, sir."

"What about him?"

"I think he might be missing, sir. I mean, kidnapped. Or hurt. Or something." Dinas got up from his desk abruptly. "Why do you think this?" he asked sternly.

"He said he would be right behind us, sir. He stayed back to do his shoe laces up just as we were going into the Common Room. But he never came back."

"Go back to the Common Room and stay there," Dinas told him. Nobody is to leave it. I'll go and speak to the Headmaster, and the other Heads of House."

"What about the tournament, sir?"

"Well what do you think Warrington would want?"

"Being honest, I think he'd probably want us to go into five days of mourning and skip the tournament, sir."

"Unfortunately, Sharpe, we're the hosts of this fine competition. The show must go on. That's what reserves are for..."

"Yes, sir."

"Alright, now run along. Nobody's to leave the Common Room and the dormitories."

"Yes, sir."

Misty finished her shower and quickly got dressed into her pyjamas, sliiped underneath her bed covers and drifted off into a deep sleep.

She was unaware of all the happenings in the dungeons, dreaming of Quidditch, Johnathan and the Pear on the poratrait leading to the Kitchens.

Dinas notified the other teachers and the Headmaster, and the night was dedicated to a thorough search of the castle and its grounds. Not unexpectedly, the search came up empty. Dinas had secured the body safely in the Room of the Requirement, and it wouldn't be found until he wished it to be.

He had secured his climate of fear.

Misty had a peaceful sleep and woke up the next day at 6:30am with a few Butterflies in her stomach.

Grabbing her dressing gown and slippers she headed into the common room.

It was pretty packed for early in the morning.

I wonder why. She thought.

"Johnathon, why is everyone in the Common Room? Is there something wrong?"

A portkey had been created at Dinas' request. It was an old, over-used looking Quaffle. At 7.00am he went down to the Quidditch Pitch, and placed the Quaffle right in the centre. Then he drew his wand and conjured vibrant signs and banners celebrating the first ever Hogwarts Quidditch team. Each member of the team had their very own banner with images of them executing stunning moves. Their Quidditch robes were black as night, apart from the v-neck collars striped with the four house colours. Their chosen numbers were superimposed in bright gold onto the image of a long, grey version of the crest on the back of the robes, the player's surname above it, also written in gold. The mighty Hogwarts crest was emblazoned large and magnificently on the front, with "HOGWARTS" written in bright gold above it. It left no doubt where the team was from. The four house colours were again visible, striped at the bottom edge of the robes.

Breakfast was being served in the Great Hall, where discussions were ongoing as to the disapperance of Warrington. Lily MacGranstan had been told that she would indeed be his replacement.

Misty was told by Johnathon a quick version of what had happened.

She was shocked. Warrington was one of the best players on the Team.

Lily must be the replacement she thought. Why wasn't I informed earlier, I am Head Girl

Misty went back up to her dormitory, grabbed her new Quidditch robes and put them on. They looked good.

She headed to Breakfast where the gossip was spreading very quickly. A few Slytherins were crying as she walked past them.

The rest of the morning seemed to drag on forever. But eventually, 11.30 rolled around and the masses of students wandered over to the newly decorated Quidditch Pitch.

A few hours later Misty headed, along with Lily and a few other team members to the pitch.

Butterflies flying all through her body. Something didn't feel normal, but she just put it down to nerves.

The team assembled in a ring around the portkey as the crowd continued to file in to the stadium. The Slytherins were noticeably glum; Warrington had been a key asset to the dominance of their Quidditch team over the last two years. They were also angry that a Gryffindor had replaced him, but Lily didn't seem to notice. She unsuccessfully tried to hide her joy at being able to represent her school.

Dinas put his wand to his lips and muttered an inaudible charm. When he spoke next, it was as though he was holding a megaphone.

"Staff, students, visitors," he began.

Misty put her arm around Lily who was shaking in her excitement.
"Shh" she whispered to Lily when she giggled.

She looked at her watch, the portkey was almost ready to leave, Dinas was just wasting time talking to everyone.
