I don't think the hyphen proves or disproves anything. I left it out originally to emphasise that I didn't mean half-blood in the normal wizarding sense but I don't see why Half-Blood can't refer to half-Blood and half-Prince parentage. If you look up half in a dictionary you'll find a hyphen is used whenever half precedes another word, e.g. half-wit, half-breed, half-time, half-life, half-dozen, half-way etc.
I know the clues are a bit thin but the main reason I think this might be true is that its a play on words, and JK loves word play. I think she'd see leaving the hyphen out as too big a give away and putting it in as perfectly good English.
