Chamber of Secrets DVD

Postby RavenEye » Saturday 12 April 2003 1:13:58am

Today's the day, the CoS DVD has been released!

Has anyone else bought a copy of the DVD/Video? I spent close to an hour sorting through all the extra features and watching all the interviews and stuff. Much easier to get around this time, you don't have spend an hour finding the deleted scenes. ;)

I've gotten through about the first 30 minutes of the movie, but I've paused it to get online. heh heh.

Feel free to discuss what you think of the DVD here.

Got mine a few hours ago.

Gone through the movie and the deleated scenes.

Quite Good.

I was glad to have gotten a widescreen version. I got a 4:3 for the first movie on DVD, that was all I could find where I live. Same elsewhere?

I got the widescreen as well. With the first DVD I think it just came in fullscreen, I couldn't find a widescreen edition either.

I enjoyed the bonus features more this time, especially the JKR/Steve Kloves interview. :)

Yeah, the bonus features were totally the bomb!
I spent about 1 1/2 hrs going throught all the stuff before I got around to actually watching the movie!

And all the extra scenes were awesome, I jsut wish that there was some way in which you could intergrate them into the movie itself, you know, and watch them in with it!

I love the second movie, it's so cool! I got it at around 9:30 p.m. and one of my friends at school could not find a single copy, and when she finally did, it was all scratched up!

I drove down to wal-mart and picked up my copy at midnight. The next day they were all gone plus the guy told me they had ordered four boxes, 100 in each, and only two boxes showed up. To bad not being able to find the widescreen edition. I have a 16x9 television and widescreen is just awesome on it. I wasn't to excited about the COS dvd coming out because I was pretty dissapointed with it's lack of the proper secenes being placed in the movies. What made the book exciting was the fact that everyone looked suspicious because of some of the things they were caught doing that seemed a little shady. In the movie it didn't really lead you to believe that anybody else could have been the heir of slytherine besides harry. What fun is that. I had to get it though because Dobby looks so crazy and real plus Aragog and the Bailisk were really well done. As for the overall movie I was quite dissapointed and look foward to the new director. He did some really incredible things with A Little Princess that will only make POA all the greater. Hopefully they'll stick closer to the storyline this time. Oh and by the way I thought the interview with J.K. Rowling was so uninformative and obviously staged it really took will to watch it all the way through.

My dad got mine over the weekend . . . the movie's better than I remembered (the first time I saw it, which was in the theater, I fell asleep), but I think they could have used some more special features

Well, I did the embarrasing thing and reserved a copy from video-ezy about a week before!!
Funny how strangely someone who spends their days working in a video store can look at you when you order a copy f Harry Potter and aren't 12... Oh well!!!

Actually it's not coming out till 2004. They decided to hold off on the release because they weren't to hopefully going up against the last Matrix movie. They have the exact release date and the internet movie database. www.imdb.com

And as far as people who look at you funny for buying a copy of Harry Potter they are obviously someone who either finds no enjoyment in imagination or is someone who is controlled by the negative aspect of the critisicm for the Potter series. They'll come to their senses soon or miss out on something as great as the series.
