Replacing Inactive Members' Quidditch Positions

Postby Paul » Thursday 17 April 2003 11:31:54pm

It would be best to have active members for all Quidditch places, particularly once the games fully start (sometime around or slightly after July). Therefore, if a member has been inactive for a while, what kind of a time period do you think should be allowed before their Quidditch position can be made available to another member?

2 weeks is too short, because, elven has been gone more than that, but she assured us she was coming back, and told us when, and from the end of june into july, i'll be out b/c i have camp, and i don't want to lose my spot, but i think 4 weeks (a month) is the right time

i'd say like 6 weeks for now cuz the thing is inactive, but once itz in action the time limit should be shorter

well i say 4 weeks.....with some exceptions...

like say elvenmist who has given prior warning she wont be here for a certain length of time.....

or maybe.....you could have reserves.....who would play during times when people were inactive.....

Reverves could work. Azn's mentioned a similar thing in the Teams thread, so I guess it could be an idea which other members may also like maybe?

Good points about members who give prior warning. That would need to be taken into consideration.

i'd say 6 weeks unless previously stated. if that is the case, like Sonkem said, reserves could be used.

I like the idea of stating how long you will be gone for if it will be longer than a month, which i reckon is enough time for inactive people!

I think, we should make an announcement for all the team members to confirm their positions before real matches begin. If somebody doesn't answer, his/her position may be given to someone else.

Now, when the matches have started, I hink that all team members should be more or less active... The time period after which a player can be replaced then depends on the intencity of the games...

I think that 2 weeks for active members is enough; but if you give warning then something can be done; also it should count how much time there will be between game and game.

i think three weeks to a month is about the right length of time. if a player has given prior warning that they willbe away then it should be acceptable and their places should be given temporarily to reserves, who on their return would be once again substituted to the bench.

I agree with han lin!

I think that's a good idea, especially about the notification and reserves! Because sometimes you just ahve to be away for a while... :D

i've actually changed my mind, i go for 2 weeks, cause raveneye, elvenmist and willwizard havn't been in in a while, except for willwizard who posts one or two posts about every 3-4 weeks, and i think it is so he doesn't loose his positions, which i think is unfair

no actually...the times when wilwizard post are the times he appears on msn messenger....so i assume those are the only times he gets online...i know he has had a moody computer in the past....

i think though that you can write off raveneye as left...because i know for a fact hes extremely active every day on an lotr forum i visit and hes rejoined another harry potter forum.....so i dont think he will be coming back even if i do bug him

ive no idea at all where elvenmist is though

i do know that i brought them all from another harry potter forum which everyone except me rejoined :(

oh, well, sorry wilwizard for assuming, it's just the whole thing with sporadic activity, and cory posted today, but only one post, so, but i think that elven is gone for sure
