I WONDER

Which one is your favorite so far. Are they getting even better as the characters develop over time?

I WONDER

Postby FawkesthePhoenix » Sunday 21 January 2007 9:12:02pm

i've been wondering, in PS, dd said only someone who wanted to find the stone, find it, but not use it, could get it. so how would nicolis flamel get it when he needed more elixer of life? it wasn't a problem in the book, since the stone was destroyed, but if the stone wasn't destroyed, how would he get more elxir?

Maybe it responds differently to the creator of the magic so at any point Dumbledore himself would be able to get it whether he wanted to use it or not and then could give it back to Flammel....I'm sure Dumbledore wouldn't set something like that up if he couldn't get the item back later.

I think that was only for while DUmbledore had it hidden in the mirror. He put the enchantment on it at that time, not forever. It was the last protection against Lord Voldemort getting the stone while it was at Hogwarts.

even so he'd still have to be able to get it out if Flammel wanted to use it while it was at Hogwarts wouldn't he...or when he wanted to stop hiding it at Hogwarts.

I think DD would be able to get it. he wouldn't want to use it because he didn't fear death. he would have known that very few wizards would be able to do that, so it was a pretty cunning idea.

That'd be stupid. It wouldn't fit the final mood of the book. I think that DD just got the elixer himself and then gave it to the Flamels'.

He did know Voldemort would and he probably guessed at an attempt at using someone to get it...no idea if he knew it was Quirrel though...you would have thought that if he did he would have done something about Quirrel before then though.

Snape obviously suspected Quirrel.
