Which one is your favorite so far. Are they getting even better as the characters develop over time?

How is it possible that Voldemort doesn't know the whereabouts of the Headquarters of the Order? I know that the Fidelius charm is in effect, but is it really possible that the Malfoy's can recognize Kreacher but not realise where he's come from? He's the one who told them about Sirius and Harry. Surely Narcissa knew where the Black's house was before the charm was put into place. Any thoughts?

Maybe it still hides it even if you knew before...like you would go up and stand at the point where it should be and be like 'I knew it was here...grr' but not be able to see it anymore because its now hidden by secret and can only be accessed if you have been told the secret. They ought to have known what area it was in though...then maybe catch people as they went to or from it.

I hadn't thought about it in that way Scellanis, good point. I'm still sceptical about it though, I'd like a little more detail on how the charm works. I was also wondering about what happens to the headquarters now that Dumbledore is dead. It's supposed to be a secret hidden inside a living person right? Is the Fidelius charm null and void now?

No - the secrets remains at the state it is if the secret keeper dies.
I just figured even if they all know where HQ is, it wouldn't appear for them until DD told them or they read the letter thing... just like Harry couldn't see it, even if Sirius had told them the address and everything and its use.

That'll be fun for them then now Dumbledore is dead for unless he was expecting it and handed the charm to someone else or wrote a letter they wont be able to tell any new members where headquarters are from now on.

maybe it was a Black family secret, and no one but the Blacks knew where it was.

Well, now Harry's the owner and there aren't any Blacks left. So dosen't Harry have to find a new secert keeper?

Nope that's wrong Simatra, the Malfoys and Lestranges are actually in the Black bloodline.
The reason they don't all know is because not only has DD not divulged the secret to them but also Sirius's ancestors (was it his father?) had put their own charms on the old house.

I know Harry isn't in the bloodline but the house belongs to him. Wouldn't he then have to find a new Secret Keeper?

i'm not sure you could get a new secret keeper. i'm sure JKR has mentioned something about fidelius. i think that the secret stays with DD, so no-one who wanted to be the new secret keeper would be able to divulge the location because the initial charm would still be in effect.
That means no new members could ever visit headquarters.

I don't know Aberforth, it's hard to say. I still think that harry would have to get someone else.

Ok here's something else you've all forgotten. The Phoenix has gone now, the Order may not still stand. There may have to be a new alliance to beat LV.

Hmm maybe when he flew off, he was actually flying back to the HQ of the Order.. far reaching I know but you never know..!
I agree though his tail feathers are not in the cores of the wands of LV and HP for nothing. Fawkes must have some other part to play in the final instalment
