Im wondering... in the cave when they were trying to get the locket(unknown to harry that it was fake, i think dumby knew, ill tell why in a minute) harry and dumbledore tried to touch the potion, but there was a barrier. dumbledore conjures a cup to drink the potion, and suddenly... he can get to the potion! that brings up questions...
1. How could the cup get to the potion? Dumbledore must have known how to get past the barrier then.
2. How come Harry couldnt get water into the cup? It kept vanishing...
It dosen't make sense... Why would Dumbledore's newly conjured cup not contain water? If he knew how to let it contain the potion, surely it could contain be able to contain water! Unless Dumbledore wanted to drink the potion and make Harry almost kill them both by disrupting the Inferi... But then why would Dumbledore even come for the fake locket, unless he thought it was real. But that still dosent explain why it couldnt contain water.

And... Why did Dumbledore keep his memory in a vial instead of conjuring it, like he did all the other times... It makes me think that it wasnt Dumbledore... Maybe his brother Aberforth... And he still hasnt made his way into the series.

This bit leaves me no choice but to believe that R.A.B. is Regulus Black.
In the Denmark(i think it was) series, the Blacks are not "Blacks"...
But "Zwarts" Coincedentally, the HPB in Denmark's R.A.B. is not R.A.B., but R.A.Z... Tell me thats coincidence.

I commented on the whole "Zwarts/Black" thing a page back or something. It seems to me to really put a dent in anybody arguing differently's POV.

It seems as though there's very little chance of it being anyone other than him, now.

The water not staying in the glass: I reckon there would have been an enchantment on the cave so that any vessel within the cave walls could only contain liquid from the cave. Voldemort would have made it so you had to disturb the inferi to avoid being poisoned, offering a somewhat moot choice between two modes of death.

It's not confirmed but was effectively by JKR's own statement in an interview.

try looking at the interviews on www.mugglenet.com.

She is asked the question

"We think it's Regulas Black, would that be right?

Hmm that would be a fine guess"

it was something like that.

Does anyone think Regulas might still be alive? I don't remember hearing about any portrait for Regulas hanging in Grimauld Place. However and (I'll have to look this up again) there was the tapestry but I can't remember if it had a date on it next to Regulas.

I just have a feeling there might be a way for Harry to speak with regulas at some point in the last book - maybe that will be through the one remaining mirror though. Oh I have no idea!!

When, exactly, was that intended to be?
When Voldemort came for the Horcrux?

I'm starting to think that it was Regulas, and the being dead part was because he knew he had drunk poison and was unable to counter it.
After all, even DD knew he couldn't counter the poison/potion

Of course, LV being the creater of it would have a cure/antidote. Or even know how to remove it.

Come to think of it, LV being who he is, would probably be expecting to force someone else to drink it so he really wouldn't care.

I wonder.

In one of the Horcrux threads, there's mention of a blood stained axe and how it could be a Horcrux.
To seriously stretch things, I wonder if that axe may, at one stage, have belonged to Rupert "Axebanger" Brookstanton

Rupert Axebanger Brookstanton is a death eater. Hermione came across the name when looking for someone with the initials RAB.

As for Regulus, he supposedly died in 1979 (I checked the Lexicon).

Where does it say that he is a death eater?

Just looked this up on google and mugglenet but didn't come back with much about him. Hermione also apparently found Rosalind Antigone Bungs.

I really don't remember this at all!!! I think I'm going to have to check later!

Thanks annachie!!

Didnt dumbledore say that it took TWO people to get that horcrux? If so what if the A stood for AND and the R and B were two different people?

The note was written in the singular.
Doesn't mean that the person didn't have an assistant with them, but it does indicate that R.A.B. is just one person.

I don't think it's either Rupert Axebanger Brookstanton or Rosalind Antigone Bungs. Hermione effectively talked herself out of it as she said they didn't seem to fit.

I'm still sticking with Regulas not least because www.mugglenet.com have have now added his middle name and apparently he is dead now as well.
