Cedric's death was so sad.

Which one is your favorite so far. Are they getting even better as the characters develop over time?

Cedric

I heard a rumor, and maybe that's exactly where I should have put this, but it's rumored that Cedric might make some kind of come back in the next book. Maybe a ghost or maybe a nightmare who knows. People just don't die for no reason you know. Think about Lilly Potter, she had to die so that Voldemort couldn't kill Harry. James Potter died so that he could protect Harry as Prongs when Harry had to fend himself from Dementors and what not. I think Cedric is going to play a big part in the future. He was such a great character. When Harry's team mates consold him after he had fallen from his broom during quidditch they explain that Cedric felt bad and wanted a do over game. He was a really good sport and a nice guy all around.

though, as it has been pointed out before, only people who have lived unhappy lives or had unhappy deaths become ghosts, and Cedric had a very happy life, he was a great quidditch player, very popular, and well liked and respected, and when he died he had just won the triwizard tournament, so he died happily

Don't forget the HP world is full of suprises and twists and turns that we can expect to love and also expect to hate. Maybe Cedric wasn't as appy as you may think. He could be a closet manic depressive lol. Just kidding...or am I.
