Fortescue, Ollivander, Bones, Vance

Who do you like best and who could you definately live without? Will there be romance in the air for any of them and who will end up with who?

Does anyone find it a little odd that wizards are disappearing not muggles? Just a thought, you would have thought that muggles would have been first. But then I suppose he could be killing off the threats first.

Obviously Ollivander disappeared though so we don't know what happened to him.

Any thoughts?

He could have been kidnapped by the Death Eaters (for his wand-making skills are surely appreciated there and his loss is a great loss to the light side) or... what if he had joined them willingly? We don't know much about him.

Maybe Ollivander was a death eater.

And in book 7, he helps attack Harry.

Maybe... don't really think so though. I think he was kidnapped. His death would hinder the dark forces at well, he probably made most of their wands too.

Muggles probably have been disappearing, we just haven't heard of them.

I think Ollivander went on his own to avoid DE's. I think he must have been worried that someone would come after him for information about the wand connection. Anyway something along these lines.

I can't believe that Harry won't talk to him or at least find out more about the wand connection for the final instalment. Harry has the upper hand on this because he knows it was the same phoenix who donated feathers for his and LV's wands. LV I'm guessing doesn't know this or at least at the time didn't understand fully what it meant. I'm sure he must have worked it out by now and would therefore want more info on Harry's wand.

Just a thought.

Hey! Hadn't thought of that. I can't believe that didn't even cross my mind once that he may have gone into hiding! Actually, I can't believe that more won't have done it.
Actually I can't believe Harry hasn't thoguht of hiding out for like 10 years to become really strong so he can fight Voldemort... but then everybody'll be dead so it won't matter.

Perhaps Voldemort went knocking on Ollivander's door because he wanted to know more about Harry's wand.

In which case it would be extremely likely that he disposed of Ollivander right after her told him the information he needed to know. I assume would would have used certain measures to get the info out of him in the first place, if indeed this is the case.

I wonder where people get their wands now. I know there are other wand shops in Britain, but J.K.R never talked about them.

Well I doubt that there were many people wanting t obuy wands during the middle of the year.
But next year with the 1st years, well they'll have to go to either second-hand ones, or ones of less value, if Ollivander doesn't come back.

What if someone breaks there wand for instance? Perhaps right now people are pouring over Floo Books (or whatever you call wizard phone books) looking for a wand-maker. I know the really good ones, like Gregorvitch, are scarce. And even the really good ones aren't as good as Ollivander.

Well people are going to have to order form overseas then, aren't they? There is no other option, because they must have wands.

Yeah, but overseas shipping is expensive, and what about the working-class? Maybe they won't be able to afford wands overseas, so the "good" side of the "army" will get weaker.

I think the issue of where they would buy them came up when Harry first went to the Burrow in HBP. Ginny (or someone) asked what people will do for wands and Bill or someone said, they'll buy from other wand makers but Ollivander was the best.

Maybe and this is only a maybe, LV went hunting for Ollivander to see if he could be forced to re-engineer LV's wand to strengthen it against Harry's. I dunno it's a bit of a straw but could be the situation if Ollivander was kidnapped.

If Ollivander went on his own then I think he just didn't want to get involved.
