Passing the Torch

Which one is your favorite so far. Are they getting even better as the characters develop over time?

Not too sure on that now, Harry just has too many differences with the ministry, Dumbledore's man through and through and all that. Just not seeing it working anymore personally...

Harry still seemed quite keen to become an aura at the start!

Yeah, that was something that really threw me off when I was reading HBP. With all this friction between Harry and the Ministry though, I don't see it happening. Besides, if I was Harry and had endured so much at the hands of Voldemort, I son't think I would want a career dealing with like-minded individuals eh? Just me though I guess

A good point, an interesting thing that will hopefully be revealled is how did James and Lily have all that money? and what did they do? also maybe how long the auror course is?

In the previous books it has always been Dumbledore to the rescue for Harry. He was there to provide him with advice; to protect him from harm and to help him see the right path. Now that he's dead, Harry's going to have to find his own way now, with a little help from his friends.

I think alot of help as thats what seperates the good side from the bad the fact that the bad is held together by fear and hate, the good is held together by trust and love

JKR said that it would probably be very long, as she would have difficulty letting go.

I'm hoping for 1200 pages.

I don't think that there was any 'passing the torch' as such. Harry was always going to be the one to kill Voldemort. Dumbledore knew that (which is probably why he didnt try to kill Voldemort at the end of the OotP). So essentially the responsiblity on Harry hasn't changed - he has not been entrusted with any more that what he already had.

Dumbledore has only ensured that Harry has all the knowledge he needs (about Voldemort, his origins and how to kill him). Notice that he never once told Harry how he is to go about the task - just what the task was.

I personally think that Harry should go through all of his school so he can become an auror, which i would like immensely. But i don't know if he will

How could he go on with school? He has to defeat Voldemort. Yes, he may go on to be an auror (with the experience that he will gain in the field, I doubt that the last year at Hogwarts will be seen as nescessary), but he won't be attending Hogwarts for his 7th year.

Between his parents' gold and the gold he got from Sirius....I think it would take awhile for it to run out.

Hmmmm...
But she has always said that each book covers a school year in Hogwarts.

She never said any one would stray from that.
