Summit else on Zelda

Postby Liquid Ice » Wednesday 17 September 2003 9:10:06pm

Well this is a place for non-hp fan fiction so I had to have a bash at writing my own zelda fan fiction.

Legend of Zelda
Set part way through 'ocarina of time'
Part 1. How it started

Link wandered through the crowd in Hyrule market, heading towards the bazar. Since he had defeated Ganon, he had returned to his child form before he discovered that he didnt want to live in the Kokori Forest if Saria wasnt there. But since Death mountain had colapsed, burying the temple of time in rock, and putting an end to the race of Gorons, the master sword remained in the plinth, and Link remained a child.

Ancient monsters had swarmed from the ruins of Death mountain, terorising all of Hyrule, the only safe place was the market. And Link, Hero of Time though he was, could not defeat the monsters, for he had lost the Kokori sword to a hungry beast and the master sword was trapped in the temple of time.

The only sword remaining to Link was the Biggorons sword, which was far too big for Link to weild in his child form, and he was reduced to dragging it behind him on a rope. Every day he went to the bazar to try and buy a smaller one, but he couldnt find one small enough for him,and no other shop stocked them either, Link was desperate. Twice he tried to go back to the Kokori forest tofind another one, but it was full of monsters and he had almost died trying to get in. The monsters were taking over.

Sounds interesting Liquid Ice. I don't know anything about Zelda though, so not sure who the characters are. Who was Ganon and Saria? How did Link end up returning to a child, and what's the Temple of Time? I'm intrigued! :)

Part 2. What Link did about it

Link decided to go and see the owl who had helped him on his quest, so he set off to Lake Hylia.

Link arrived at the lake panting, for he had run most of the way, but when he arrived he found the owl sitting on his usual pearch. Link went gratefully over to him and explained his problem.
'It is indeed a terrible thing,' the owl said when Link had finished, 'I dont know how you will reach the Temple of Time, but I do know who you should ask.'
'Who? Who?' Asked Link, jumping up and down exitedly.
'There is one goron who survived the fall of death mountain. He lived right at the top, he escaped to safety along with the great fairy on death mountain. He is a fine swordsmith, you may have met him before.'
'Biggoron,' said Link, 'Its Biggoron isnt it who knows? I have met him before, but where is he now?'
'He went to Gereudo valley,' said the owl, 'but he wasnt very popular among the gereudos, they chased him into the Haunted Wasteland, and he headed toward the dessert Collosus, but the eye of truth is yours so he had no way of folowin the phantom guide, I doubt he reached the dessert Collosus.' Link stared miserably at the owl.
'How will I find him? I wont be able to find him in the Haunted Wasteland.'
'You are the hero of time, Link, you will find a way.'

Part 3. Links 'help'

Link was not very hopeful about finding Biggoron in the haunted wasteland. He didnt think he would find him himself, however.....yes it was worth a try. H set off as fast as he could for gereudo valley.

When he arrived several hours later in gereudo valley he wasnt so sure. The haunted wasteland looked very bleak and very threatening. Then he suddenly realised he couldnt go anyway, not from here at least. He took out the ocarina of time and played the requiem of spirit. He felt himself carried in a whirl of stars to the desert collosus. He jumped. There was Biggoron! 'How did you make it through the haunted wasteland?' Asked link 'I thought it was impossible without the lense of truth.'
'So did I' admitted Biggoron, 'I came here in order to escape from the gereudos. They sure do hate men. I was stumbling around and I came out here. Amazing.' He shifted uncomfortably. 'Its too hot here, and there arent enough rocks. Us gorons are used to the good nutritious rocks of death mountain. These pebles have no goodness. But its good to see you again, Link. What do you want?'
'Well' said Link 'I need some help shifting, or maybe, getting rid of some large, um, things.'
'Well I am strong' said Biggoron, 'But I feel weak, I havnt had proper food for several weeks.'
'Dont worry Biggoron,' said Link, 'Thats no problem, come with me!' Link took Biggorons hand and led him to a piece of raised land where they could stand ut of reach of the sand monsters. 'Put your arms round my waist and hold on tight' said Link. Biggoron did so and Link got out the acarina of time. As he raised it to his lips he wished for the hundredth time that he could remember the prelude of light, but he couldnt. Instead he played the serenade of water, then from lake hylia they walked to the temple of time.

‘Im exhausted,’ said Biggoron, as they finaly staggered through the market, ‘and Im starving!’
‘Shut your eyes,’ said Link, as the rocks came into view,’
‘Will I get some food soon?’ Asked Biggoron, as Link led him through the market place.
‘You sure will,’ said Link as they came up to the rocks, ‘stop’ Link waited a moment, then…..’surprise!’ Biggoron slowly opened his eyes and stared at the massive piles of rock. Link became nervous when he didn’t reply, ‘can you manage it all?’
‘Manage it? Of course I can manage it!’ And with that Biggorn ate every rock in 3 giant bites. ‘Excellent.’ He said simply. Link stared in amazement. ‘Oh, was I supposed to do that?’ He looked worried, ‘I was just so hungry.’
‘That’s WONDERFUL!’ Cried Link. Without a backward glance, Link dashed in. A few minutes later he emerged, an adult again and clutching the master sword. ‘Wonderful Biggoron, you’re a pal, but now Im going to save Hyrule again.’ Link got out the ocarina of time and played Eponas song. Epona came with a whinny and stopped beside Link. Link mounted, and galloped off into the sunset to save Hyrule.

Dont you love happy endings?

Yep ferrus, I probably agree but I couldnt really think of much else or link to do....maybe Im a bit impatient.

Ok pinky, ummm the ocarina of time is....an ocarina! You can 'learn' certain tunes and they make things happen, 6 of them warp you to different locations, one makes it rain, one makes sunlight appear, which freezes zombies and makes day night and night day, one summons your horse to you, one allows you to talk to saria (just a friend...), one proves your conection to the royal family etc. Im the game the tunes are recorded so you cant forget them but I had to make link forget because I forgot half way through writing that one tune would warp link to the temple of time so there wouldnt be any point in the story!
