Introductions

Postby Broccoli » Monday 15 November 2004 1:29:35pm

I thought maybe it's good to have a sticky Introductions thread in the New Members Welcome Forum where both old and new members can say a few words about themselves - apart from the welcome threads where the new users are encouraged to post, etc. but rarely introduce themselves. We have something like this in the Great Hall, but it is already old...

Isn't there a thread like that in the Great Hall that isn't sticky?? I'm sure I remember posting in it recently

Yes, there is, but the last post in it is from the 8th of September... And as many members have left now it could be confusing for newbies...

Just added my info a moment ago. This was a really great idea. I hope it encourages some new posters.

Is it just me, or has the introductions thread completly disapeared from the New Members forum? It was there a few days ago, now it seems to be gone. I hope little monster didn't eat it.

Eeek - I've been feeding Li'l Monster regularly with top quality Monster Food from Hogsmeade so I don't think she's eaten any threads for quite a while. Can anyone remember any specific words or phrases that may have been in the missing thread...if there's something particular and unique-ish that you can remember I can try to search the database to see if any remnants of the thread are there.

problem is I just copied that across from the old introductuions thread in the great hall because I couldn't be bothered to write a new post....I think I did update my age so if you find that phrase followed by me saying my name is 21 then it would be the right thread....

Aha - it must have been the yogurt that Li'l Monster was after! I've checked the database.. There are a few yogurts in there but definitely no sign of a 35p one there - in fact nothing costing 35p at all. It doesn't seem to be in the latest backup either I'm afraid. Really sorry but I think it's been totally eaten.
