I agree with Nobby, Aberforth & Mundungus must had been be colleagues, if not friends (once upon a time, then there was an argument and Aberforth threw Mundungus out of his bar). They are still very similar, both old wicked crooks!

Just a joke, I think Aberforth is much younger and also less competent than Albus. Hey, do you notice both their names begin with ''A''? People like to give their kids names on the same letter
But I don't think Aberforth was a spy for Voldemort. Dumbledore is his brother, he has known Aberforth all his life and he still trusts him.
