I'm not quite sure about how they get back after trans, but the reasont hat people bother with the animagnus thing is because you dont' require a wand to do it!
hmm...im thinking they bother with animagi because they cant untransfigure themselves and also because every animagi is meant to be registered right....
so everyone should know not to transfigure a grey tabby with markings like spectacles on her face into a teapot or something......
i mean, i never thought about this before, but in CoS Ron transfigures his rat scabbers into a water goblet.....only he doesnt know yet, but scabbers isnt a rat....so he actually transfigured peter pettigrew into a water goblet
i mean, if scabbers hadnt been returned to his rat form what would peter have done....hed be stuck as a water goblet i bet.....if somebody drops that goblet and breaks it.....does he lose a leg.....or two??
interesting.....i think thats the reason for animagi....to avoid accidents like that kind of thing....
im not sure, i dont think so...but you have to admit....even if they dont state it in the book theres a good chance at some point during his 3 years ron transfigured peter into something.....
i mean, we know he tried to turn him yellow
and i mean, just cos ron doesnt do it...doesnt mean somebody else couldnt accidently do it to someone.....
In the 4th book, Krum badly half transfigures himself into a shark, and Hermoine says somewhere or other in it that htey dont' learn about tranfiguring themselves till 6th year... or something along those lines!
I'm too lazy to pick up the book and check justn ow, but I'm sure the conv took place!
But, can you transfigurate into another person?.not be polyjuie, but using a wand, and casting a spell like transfigurating nto a pig, but into another wizard/muggle?
I'm not sure where to post this, but it seems to fit here. If a wizard is transfigurated into an animal, and the animal dies, then which form does the ghost has(human or animal)?
I would think the the ghost of the person, if they did in fact become a ghost after their death, would be in human form. Even though they took on the appearance of a ferret, their soul would still be that of a human and I would think that to be the determining factor.
Or on the converse, perhaps that's part of what makes someone become a ghost. The fact that they transfigured themselves into something, died, and then were trapped in the body of whatever it was the were transfiguered into.
