I know, I know, this is a section for suggestions, but I couldn't figure out where else to post these questions.

I know some people have custom titles under their names. How do you hand those out? Do people only receive them after a certain amount/quality of posts or a length of time that they've been here? Can you choose one of your own upon registering?

You can have your own choice of title after you've reached Fully Qualified Wizard (or Witch) status. In other words, after 125 posts. The ranks (with minimum number of posts per rank) are as follows:

1 Muggle
5 Squib
11 First Year Student in Witchcraft and Wizardry
26 Second Year
40 Third Year Student in Witchcraft and Wizardry
55 Fourth Year
80 Fifth Year Student in Witchcraft and Wizardry
95 Sixth Year
110 Seventh Year
125 Fully Qualified Wizard

plus, if you hold a position on a quiddich team, or as head boy, head girl, or prefect (i think) you get your position changed to that below your name.

Well, I have 128 posts (this one is 129th) and a title Fully Qualified Wizard which I can't change (where in my profile can I do this?)
At least Fully Qualified Witch would be cool for now till I get new ideas ... but how to display them above low my yet-to-be :roll:

That depends on you. I probably took me about a week when I first joined (but I did post a lot, 800 posts in my first month). If you frequent the Three Broomsticks and Zonko's and join in there you could do it in less. But don't spam...that won't be tolerated by the mods here.

If you post in just the active word games twice a day you'll reach 125 in a week no problems...just use the time in between to come up with a cool title.
