Broomsticks And Owls: Harry Potter Forum
Offical RPG Rules And Regulations

    1. No posting in the RPG Area without an authorised RPG character.
1a. To be authorised, a character must have a full name, not violate any of the scenario special conditions or RPG rules, not directly violate Harry Potter canon unless the special conditions allow it, and must be characters of either: Your creation, Harry Potter canon, or another's creation with their permission for use.
    2. Make a sincere effort to use correct spelling and grammar. This section is not Jonko's. Minimal chat-speak.
    3. An RPG scenario or character cannot be changed after authorisation, except at the discretion of an RPG moderator.
    4. No double-posting without request to edit or delete, & apologies.
    5. No spamming. This is a formal section.
    6. No killing off or incapacitating other members' characters without prior permission.
    7. Minimal speech from other members' characters [eg. 'Yes', 'No', 'I don't think so'].
    8. Appropriate language must be used at all times, ie. no swearing.
    9. Attempt to make posts worthwhile - eg. minimal 'Yes' posts.
    10. No out-of-context speech in scenarios. RPG Discussions Forum is used for that.
    11. Members must have at least 30 posts on the BaO Forum to create an RPG character or suggest a scenario.
    12. An appropriate level of third-person speech and actions with a character not belonging to any member is allowed.
    13. Real characters from the Harry Potter series are allowed at the discretion of the moderators, but action will be taken if the dignity of these characters is compromised. This is why an entirely new character of a member's creation is preferable.
    14. RPG moderators may lock (close, complete or suspend) any scenario at their discretion.
    15. After the special conditions for an RPG Scenario have been authorised, all participants in that scenario must obey the RPG Forum Rules, plus the special conditions of that RPG Scenario. This includes the authorization of all characters to that RPG Scenario.
    16. After one month of inactivity in an RPG Scenario, Warning #1 will be issued in the title of the scenario. If another month or lengthly period of time passes, Warning #2 will then be issued and followed by another period of time. After three months of inactivity, a Final Warning will be issued. At the end of this period, the moderator has one of two choices. If no further progress is more or less assured, the scenario should be closed. However, if the moderator feels that the scenario has potential and one day could in the future reactivate, they can simply choose to Suspend the scenario, and at an appropriate time in the future they may withdraw the suspension, or close the scenario.
    17. RPG Scenarios can have 4 different status: Current, Completed, Suspended, or Closed.
17a. Following the title of the scenario, suspended scenarios must bear the label [Suspended].
17b. Current and suspended scenarios must bear the label RPG: followed by the name of the scenario, in the scenario title.
    18. After closure or completion, the RPG Scenario will be moved to the RPG Archive, where old scenarios are viewed.
    19. Any RPG Scenario Suggestion by a member can not be accepted if it violates any of the RPG Rules and Regulations.
    20. Any member of the Broomsticks and Owls Harry Potter Forum with over 30 posts is eligible to participate in any RPG Scenario.
    21. The special conditions of an RPG Scenario must not break RPG rules, and cannot restrict or limit the quantity or qualities of characters participating, without the permission of an RPG Moderator.
    22. RPG Moderators have the right to modify and add RPG Rules and Regulations.
    23. RPG Moderators have the right to grant exemptions from RPG Rules and Regulations in special circumstances, at their discretion.
    24. After an RPG Scenario is Closed, Completed or Suspended, no more characters can be accepted for that RPG Scenario.
    25. RPG Moderators have the right to modify and delete any posts that they believe are in violation of the RPG Rules and Regulations, and/or are unacceptable for the RPG Forum.
    26. The Official RPG Rules and Regulations must be complied with at all times in the Broomsticks and Owls Harry Potter RPG, which includes the Harry Potter RPG Area, the RPG Discussion Area and the RPG Archive: The Vault.
26a. Failure to comply with the RPG Rules and Regulations may result in the editing and deletion of any offending posts, the declining of any offending or future RPG scenarios and characters, and the banning of the member from participating in the RPG Area.
26b. The RPG Forum Rules must also be complied with at all times in any temporary Broomsticks and Owls RPG Area, including the Deathly Hallows based RPG and the Deathly Hallows RPG Discussion Area forums.
    27. All Broomsticks and Owls Harry Potter Forum Rules must be complied with at all times in the RPG Forum.

Rules are open to suggestions from RPG members.
