Hello all.
I was rereading GoF and I noticed this (pg. 239 UK version):
"Up at the top table, Professor McGonagall had got to ger feet and swept past Ludo Bagman and Professor Karkaroff to whisper urgently to Professor Dumbledore, who bent his ear towards her, frowning slightly.
[...]
At the top table, Professor Dumbledore had straightened up, nodding to Professor McGonagall."
My reaction was "what did she whisper?". I thought maybe she was saying something like "Harry didn't exit the common room at night" - since she's the head of the house, perhaps she knows these things. I dismissed this right away, because then all the times Harry and the others left at night, she would know. Plus, she would say that in defense of Harry at the smaller room when Maxime and Karkaroff were accusing him.
And it couldn't be just "well, he's magic bound now, get him here", because she knows Dumbledore knows this. It couldn't be "hey, do something, everybody's waiting", because it just doesn't sound like something McGonagall would say to Dumbledore.
Any thoughts?
