Brains (spoilers)

Postby Boycey » Wednesday 25 June 2003 4:24:57pm

I have read the importance of the veil room alot, and yes I do think that room will come up in later books, but what about the room with the brains in the glass tub, another room that I also has a part to place in future books, cos if it is'nt important them why did JKR bring it in?, so I like to open this thread to see peoples opinions on that room.

I guess that it would be unfair to ask people the question and not give an answer my self so this is what I think it is,

I think that the brain room is the intelligence of the ministry, that its the room that will give you data on things that are happening that are illigal in the magical world, for example if a student does a spell and is not at Hogwarts then that will pick it up, also it would be able to get information people doing the unforgiveable spells. I think this room will come to play as Voldemort will want to temper with it and get others in trouble and maybe get the ministry on his side again possibley. Voldemort could also want to destroy it as it could give many secrets away about him

The Brain Room intrigues me as well. I haven't been able to come up with a good idea for its purpose yet, but the way you described it makes it sound a lot like the movie Minority Report. ;)

heheheh... true that

u knoe what, maybe it was cuz of the the unseriousness of the way Ron was tackling the brains that makes me feel that they won't play a major role

but then again, i remember how i shrugged off Arthur Weasley telling Harry bout the unspeakables and the department of mysteries in GoF..

and i can't for the life of me figure out why the ministry would be breeding these kinds of things

i don't think that the brains are the way of monitering everything, i think it is the DoM's study of inteligence, kind of like the clock room would be time, and the veil room would be death

Oh, I like that explanation! The mysteries being studied by the MOM...that makes a lot of sense. :D

One that we know for certain also is Love, the perpertually locked room. Hmm how many rooms were there again? Have to go back to the book...

*trundles off, remembers is only half-way through current re-read*

Guess I'll be up late tonight!* :-)

i'm pretty sure that there were 12 doors, and i think that some of them connect to eachother, like the veil room and the brain room, so
1)Enter/Exit
2)Veil Room
3)Brain Room
4)Locked Room
5)Prophecy Room
6)Time Room
7)You said love room, i don't remeber this one

now i'm not say that there are only 5 more, cause i think that there are probably more, maybe the prophecy room wasn't one of the doors, it just went off another room and that was the only way there. What else do you think the minestry wants to keep the research of secret?

The Love room is the one that is always locked, as stated by DD. I'll re-read that chapter and probably add something tomorrow.

could the veil room and the brain room be linked by more than a door ?
what if brains of people who went trough the veil ended up in the tub to suffer eternal punishement ?
that would explain that they wanted to possess a body again (ron's one) and would allow JKR to reintegrate sirius into further episodes ...
it is only a theory and is nearly certainly untrue, but i like the sound of it.
say what you think...

good point seeing as how we don't know what happens to their bodies, but why would they be punished for going through the veil, sirius did it on accident
