Theory about the general plot behind the entire series

Postby luckyducky13 » Saturday 21 June 2003 3:17:54am

I think that the books are following this general path: History is repeating it self somewhat. Harry will end up with Ginny, because she's got red hair just like Lily. Harry plays Quidditch, just like his father. Ron is the modern day Sirius...He's Harry's very best friend and he's just as tempermental as Sirius, yet he also has that playful side. Hermione is basically a modern Lupin, as she is the smart one. Although Lupin wasn't exactly bossy, they're both very intelligent and gladly help their friends. Draco is, of course, the modern day Lucius...Pansy also being the modern day Narcissa, with the exception of the fact that Narcissa is pretty, where as Pansy is, well, not. Now, here's the real kicker. Neville is the modern day Peter Pettigrew. Think about it! He's horrible at everything, pudgy, sidles up to others to protect himself...You get the idea!

Well, I hope you like my theory! Have a good one! Of course, if Ginny dies in OoTP, then there goes my theory...Unless another red-head comes along, of course. ^_~ lol Well, bye!

Well, I like the idea... but somehow it jsut doesnt' all sit well with me... I don't like the idea of Harry and Ginny. He is too close to Ron for it to work I think, also, he doenst' look at Ginney like that.

And neville being a trator. I cant' see that ever happening> I just dont't ink that its in his character. he is way too loyal to Harry in particular to go trator! Also, I think that even if he wanted to (which I cant' see happening ever) he would be way too scared of his Gran whooping his butt to even act on it!!! ;) hehehe!

Isn't Lucius way older than James and Remus and Sirius? I don't think Lucius was at Hogwarts when the marauders were.

I like your idea though about history repeating, but I agree with Holly, Neville will never go traitor. By the way, that granny of his always makes me laugh, with her weird hat! : )

I like the idea of history repeating itself, too, and I can definitely see Ron as Sirius and Hermione as Lupin, but Ginny and Harry? I don't know . . . I think that'd be a bit weird- I agree with Holly that Harry and Ron are too close for that to work. And I don't think Neville will turn traitor. Remember, the Death Eaters tortured his parents to death. Would he really want to join them knowing what they did to his parents?

Ron, though, I think has potential of turning traitor. He's probably pretty bitter about having to come second to his brothers, and then to Harry. If you think about it, he's not really better than anybody at everything. The bitterness he has might make him evil . . . I dunno . . .

you're kidding me?!! Ron!!! evil!!! NOOOO
Ron is way to nice for that. so is Neville.

i like your idea, but as everyone before me has said, i just can't see it happening. i'm not altogether opposed to the Harry/Ginny idea, though.
and i think that instead of Lucius being Draco, it would be Snape. though, Draco is a tad eviller than Snape in my opinion.

Charis- think about it.

Ron's always been overshadowed- first by his brothers, now by Hermione and Harry. Don't you think he'd hold a lot of bitterness from that? Also, he's never been able to have everything he wanted because he's poor- we already know for a fact that he's bitter from that. All Lord Voldemort has to do now to convince him to become a Death Eater is to make him all these crazy promises, like, for faithful service, Voldemort will reward him with a million Galleons, or something like that, and eternal fame in the meanwhile.

I agree that it's probably not going to happen, knowing Rowling, but I still think that possibility is there.

i suppose it is a possibility. i'm more denying it out of my own wishes for the story. but, sure, Ron probably has a lot of bitterness, but how come he's never showed it before? the only big time that he ever became angry about it was in book 4, when harry's name came out of the goblet. I'm sure Ron has it tougher than he lets on to, but, he knows right from wrong. he's been brought up in a home that hates evil, and no matter how much he hates being overshadowed by his brothers, i think he's too smart to turn away from all the teachings he's recieved. he's not like percy, he's not power hungry. you have a good point in saying that Ron has alot of bitterness, but i really don't think its going to lead him to Voldemort's side. i do think, though, that it will reach a climax sometime. i doubt its going to just be left alone.
i'm not ruling the possibility of ROn becoming evil completely out, but i don't see an incredible amount of evidence for it. like you said, hermione, knowing JK it doesnt seem like she gonna make Ron turn evil. :D

In OotP Ron actually hints to harry that ginny would be a good girlfriend, if i remember correctly. But Charis i thought of exactly what you said. History just repeats itself.

I think the idea of the series is that history will not repeat itself and some sense of finality will ensue. Draco is more like James at the moment.

I think the idea of the series might be that hisory does NOT repeat itself... And though some characters resemble others, it is still "our choices, that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities" 8)

History will not repeat its self. Its too predictable. Neville is not evil. He will not always be horrible at everything. He will be a key in the rest of the story. Ron will not always be overshadowed. He will (in the quest to stop LV) prove himself worthy. Of course no one can ever know what is really going to happen, but hey its just my opinion.
