Bill Weasley (and the goblins)

Who do you like best and who could you definately live without? Will there be romance in the air for any of them and who will end up with who?

Bill Weasley (and the goblins)

Postby Ginny Malfoy » Sunday 25 January 2004 5:32:06pm

I speculated in another thread that Bill might become Hogwarts' DADA teacher in Harry's 6th year. Even if that does not happen, I think Bill's part in the septology will be expanded in books 6 and 7. I feel like there's a reason the Weasleys chose Egypt in book 3, why it keeps being mentioned that Bill works for Gringotts with curses in Egypt, and why goblins keep getting reinforced in the storyline... :o

It just seems to me that goblins and Bill will play a bigger role, and Bill could become a good mentor for Harry. I wish I could provide more specifics, but I just can't quite put my finger on why I think we'll be seeing more of Bill...do you think he and/or the goblins will play a bigger role? Will Bill and Harry have a mentoring relationship? Maybe Harry shouldn't be sleeping through all the goblin rebellion talks in History of Magic!

i`ve got that strange (but unfounded) feeling that Bill is going to have an important part in book 6 or 7... the same as the goblins.

Actually, I think we'll get to know more about Egypt. Why would JKR introduce Egypt? Only for Weasleys going there for holidays? Well, we'll see...

Nope, Bill got a desk job with Gringotts so he could move back to the UK. He's still with Gringotts, only not doing treasure hunting anymore. That's mentioned, I think, when Harry first gets to #12 Grimmauld Place, either in Harry and Ron's room right after he arrives and everyone is telling him about the Order, or that same night in the kitchen over dinner.

Yes! I have a feeling that Egypt will be important in the next two books. I also think Bill will have an important role!

But Bill isn't in Egypt anymore...

I think Egypt was mentioned to show the relationship between Bill and Gringotts, but I doubt it will be used in books 6 or 7...

Britain, not Egypt

I doubt whether Egypt will be a special place :-? but I hope to read more of Bill, he's totally cool  But Romania might have a role, it's been mentioned more times tham Egypt.

place: the final battle (of the 6th book) may take place in Godric Hollow ... :???: Crazy idea, but there is soms symbolism because in the 2nd book the battle was in Slytherin's chamber.

Bill as a DADA teacher? No, Bill has to recruit Goblins to join Dumbledore and so Bill can't leave his job. There are many speculations that Fleur will be the new teacher ... might be, but I don't think so. I'd like to see Tonks teaching - her lessons would be soooooooo much fun  The students deserve some compensation because they had to put up with Umbridge for a year and Tonks would really cheer things up, bring some atmosphere :D

Tonks cant be DADA teacher. she is a current working auror and the ministry needs Aurors now, especially metamorphomagi

i dont see Bill to be Harry's mentor but he would probably hav a bigger role to play with the goblins.

and as for Fleur.....
I WANT FLEUR!!! I WANT FLEUR!!! I WANT FLEUR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

uhh.. what?

If Egypt is to be mentioned again I believe it would be in passing.
I do hope that Bill take a much larger role in the last two books.
He didn't have many lines in the first five books but I really liked his character.
(Not sure how I came to that conclusion when he hasn't said much yet)

I could easily see Bill in a teaching role. In the story I am writing Bill actually is a teacher at Hogwarts and I think that his introduction to it was beliveable.
I think his work with the goblins is important yes, but he has many talents that should be tapped and he is not the only human employee that the goblins have. There are others that could easily help to rally the goblins to the wizard side of the war.

well just my 2cents :)

As nice as it would be to "see" Fleur again I'd be disappointed if she became the DADA teacher. Harry's a lot better at DADA than her, he proved it during the tri-wizard tournament. A new character would be a lot better in my opinion.

I agree with Eol on that. I never really liked Fluer and I would not be hurt to have her dropped from the story.

Oh and Bill could do much better.
